Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Glad I ignored some of the previous reviews!!!! Having made the booking I then looked at the reviews and began to think I'd made a big mistake. Everything was fine from arriving at reception to leaving next morning. The room was comfortable, quiet and we both had a good night's sleep. The only niggle was the (included) cost of the evening meal in our package, which we didn't realise was limited, and was not shown anywhere on the paperwork nor mentioned when checking in. We forgot to tell the waiter about this and ended up paying for the meal. This was refunded, in full, at check-out the next morning. Would we stay there again - yes without a doubt. July 5, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not for me Terrible service Staying here as I type having booked a Double room with double sofa upon arrival I was informed I had booked a accessible room I questioned this and they reconfirmed I had booked that and that's all they had available assuming I'd made a mistake I went to the room ground floor no sofa and looked up my confirmation and it clearly stated a Double room with Double sofa up to 4 people. I returned to reception and asked that they double checked the availability as I had not booked the type of room given. the young guy at reception obviously thought I come from a blame culture as all he could say was it was not his fault, as he wasn't there when it was allocated along with he could do nothing about it although he continued to check in other people well after my arrival. I asked to escalate my complaint with the duty manager Domigos the young receptionist went to get him I waited for around 10 minutes and the receptionist returned and said he will be coming as soon as he could but he had two option one to move hotels which would defeat the purpose of my selection being the nearest to the International station or adjust the price as the move was not acceptable as already had a 4.50am start I stated the problem with the room was the bathroom and the shower was suitable for some one under 5 ft they only offered a £9 reduction complete joke really for such an organisation like Holiday Inn. I spend over 120 nights a year on business and have never had an issue like this or a feeble offer. Will never use this hotel or brand if I can help it on my future bookings and stick with the brands that their managers come a face the customer. Planned to order food and decided to get a takeaway delivered so can't comment on that look OK but very quite for a full house hotel. Room comfort average long winding corridors some areas need updating personally would avoid the place. July 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality service with a smile My wife and I booked a one night stay with parking whilst we went on a river cruise. 10 minutes before we were due to be picked up I discovered I was at the wrong hotel I should have been at the Maidstone Road branch. Reception speedily transferred my package to the other Holiday Inn and I drove off to the new pick op point. I felt this was service over and above the call of duty as the error was all mine. The reception at the Maidstone Road branch was just as friendly and efficient and I would recommend this hotel group to anyone and these two branches in particular. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Revisited Having stayed at this Holiday Inn on many previous occasions due to not having to be in this area for a while have not had the opportunity. I must be honest and say that in the past we have experienced some small problems so a bit apprehensive going back but so pleased we did - we saw a vast improvement in a lot of the areas which was really nice- not sure where the last few reviewers have stayed but I am sure things have not changed that much in the last two weeks since we were there. Firstly the staff could not have done more for us especially Jack on reception who is a credit to the hotel and all Holiday Inns should have one! - he was so helpful and did recognise my Platinum Status and apologised that there were no upgraded rooms available which I was aware of. Bar staff also friendly and nice to see the garden area etc has been cleaned up especially as we had sunshine. Lastly we had room service which is always a problem in all hotels of all standards and chains but I have to say it was the best Lasagne I have eaten (and we eat out most nights) in a very long time and was hot and delivered quickly. So if you need to be in the area I would not hesitate to say stay - no it is not a 5 star luxury hotel but you get what you pay for and hopefully Jack will be on reception to welcome you!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Experiance at IHG Ashford Central On booking into the Hotel, I was not upgraded, or any mention from the staff, that I was a platinum member, I booked a double-non-smoking room--I was given 2 single beds and a room that was badly smelling of previous guests smoking!! Manager did find me another room, after being I was asked twice-if I had touched anything in the first room?? I went into the Hotel Bar to order drinks and Starter and Dinner----- Starter came after 30 minutes, then I sat there for another hour and half--waiting for my main course, it never came--So I went to reception to complain, my main meal arrived in my hotel room - 20 minutes later, Chicken was cold, and when I checked out the next morning--The Hotel charged me a extra £6,00 for Room Service !! In which I had to pay! The Duty Manager- did say just how sorry he was, and said he would add some points to my rewards-package, to hopefully compensate the whole experience. Have a guess what?? He never Did ! Awful Experience, from possibly the worst hotel that I have ever stopped in. June 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A pretty average experience I've stayed in a LOT of Holiday Inns, all around the world and this is well below average. The rooms are a bit tired, the woman on the reception desk when we arrived treated our arrival as an inconvenience and I'm in no great rush to go back. This is not terrible hotel, but there are plenty of better options. June 29, 2015
