Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hokiebird22 Smoke smell & problems with billing
I would not recommend this property for multiple reasons. 1) it's not in the greatest part of town. Not terrible, but not great.. 2) it was a bit run down looking inside and my room smelled. 3) and not least....I got charged after the fact for the smoke smell that I did not create and had a heck of time getting it removed from my bill.
The first two things I could live with, as you get what you pay for. But dealing with #3 really irritated me. First, the $100 "misc fee" did not hit my bill until after I left, with no explanation of what "misc" was. I was there for three days. If they wanted to accuse me of smoking in the room, they could have done it before. It mysteriously showed up on my account after the fact. Second, I had to call 4 times to get it removed! Front desk staff did their job. They were able to let me know what the charge was for to begin with, said they couldn't remove it, and then forwarded me to some sort of management person. I left 4 message with this person and never got a response. Twice, I was told the person was in the building and would call me right back. I was even asked when was the best time to be called. Nothing. On my 4th try, I was again forwarded to management. No answer. Left a message. So, I called back, got a different front desk person...complained that I had already left my 4th message and wanted someone else. They finally connected me with a person to help me....who was on-site...low and behold, it was the SAME person I had been leaving messages for. The same person that just didn't answer their phone 2 minutes prior. The charge was finally addressed and removed, but what a CLUSTER!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mysongotmarried Excellent and friendly staff to the last person
I was greeted with a friendly hello and smile and they continued from every staff member I had the pleasure to pass by. The building was clean and quiet and the beds comfortable, and it's closeness to many points of interest including the Newport Aquarium (which I recommend) was an unexpected plus.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by F00001 Great location
This hotel is in Kentucky but very close to The Great American Ball park, and Newport Aquarium. There are nearby restaurants in walking distance.
The hotel is average clean, not very modern decor.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tom1999 WiFi was terrible
For some people, WiFi may be a luxury. I travel on business and I do all of my sales quotes in the evenings. I wasted two hours trying to send a few e-mails. I called the front desk and they forwarded me to their tech support. They tried to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the network. Then they told me that it was a configuration with my computer, but could not help me with it. I use my internet at every hotel, restaurant and library that I am in. When I activated my "Hot Spot" on my phone, the e-mails went out immediately. While my company does not like me using my hot spot, I ended up using it the rest of the night. While on my hot spot, I couldn't help but notice that there were several other SSIDs that looked like Verizon hot spots. My guess is that there were quite a few people in the hotel without a good WiFi connection. This is unacceptable.
