While traveling on business I stopped for an overnight stay and was not satisfied with the stay at the Genoa City hotel at all. The room was dirty and appeared to be recently used. I am not a picky person and do not like to complain, but when I mentioned the state of the room the person at the front desk used it as an opportunity to try and up-sell me a room. No hotel staff was available to clean up the room and just put fresh sheets on the bed. But the towels are comfortable and make great bedding. The parking layout and access to the hotel was difficult to decipher also.

this is difficult to review as I have very mixed experience.
hotel location is a little out of centre but just 20 mins walk from main train station and near bus link to Airport.
Reception staff were totally indifferent and I felt I was intruding on their time.. NO welcome, instructions, directions, recommendations... Totally ignored at check in... wasnt expecting a read carpet but did expect at least some basic courtesy....
and yet on the other hand......
the room was AMAZING... beautifully designed, spacious, top of the range designer furnishings, good food prep area, BIIIIIG bed and chaise, Fab bathroom and a nice cool balcony...and spotless..
Rest of the hotel was OK.. the gym was basic but met my needs.. Location means that getting food is easy at mall across from hotel in ferry terminal but nothing in the area after 8pm..
Genoa city itself is a fantastic place to visit, full of mystery and history and just a 30 minute train trip away from the best of the Italian riviera!
This Hotel would be one of the best in the region (esp for those coming and going from the ferry terminal) if the staff made more of an effort to meet and greet their guests.. We dont expect much but certainly not to be ignored!
