Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Do not stay here We booked a long term stay here online including breakfast with a king suite with 2 rooms. We booked to arrive on a Monday but our long haul trip was shorter than expected so they were good enough to get us in early but in a different room, which was fine. When we arrived the manager (and another employee) were working the front desk. There was a small line of people waiting for a room. A gentleman in front of us asked a minor question and Gary the manager pretty much yelled at him and pointed for him to go sit down and wait for his turn!!! He was very rude to the customer. Gary seemed stressed with a small line of people and was not friendly at all to anyone but us..because ...prior to getting to Phoenix we stayed at another IHG, After checking out of that place I received an email from IHG for a review. I wrote a bad review about the bed - it was horrible , my husband actually slept on the floor. So then a Manager from IHG contacts me and I tell her that I am concerned about our stay in Phoenix because of the beds. She forwards my concerns to Gary the manager in Phoenix! So that's why he was nice to us only! Anyway they checked us in to a room with a king bed which was fine. The next morning we went to the front desk to ask if they had our 2 room suite ready. The girl said "oh Ma'am you have a much better room right now than our suites." " Our suites have not been updated and are not that great, trust me you have a better room now". Well We decided to try it because that is what we had originaly booked and for our long term stay we needed the 2 rooms. so we go back to the front desk and speak to a different girl and she tells us the rooms are fine! Yikes! Our suite room had tried to be repaired and upgraded but very very poorly. Our toilet leaked ( and no wonder, there was about a two inch thick layers of caulking from other times that they had tried to repair it!) so they came the next day to put MORE caulking around it!!! It looked horrible but it stopped the leak lol! Everything in the hotel that had tried to be upgraded or fixed was done very poorly. As for the breakfast it was mostly good. Raul , one of the waiters was very friendly and served us well. There was an older waitress who was very rude to us and others and she got very upset at her fellow employees and was not discrete at all about it! The pool was always dirty. In the 12 days we were there we never saw anyone cleaning in or around the pool, only the garbage. The beds in both our rooms were sub standard. The door to our room was in very rough shape, We had to slam it just to close it. Safe to say we will never stay here again! I believe IHG is going down hill! The beds were horrible in another IHG on our travels home..so I just don't trust them to have a nice room and comfortable bed anymore. I am a priority rewards member. I will use the reward points that I have but after I will not choose IHG first anymore. Oh, on a positive note - the parking lot was great! Lol Sorry IHG but you have been down graded in my books! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room with a view Overall the stay was comparable to other holiday inn's, but for the business traveler with very little needs, a holiday inn express would be more advantageous with a free simple breakfast included. This was a nice hotel to stay at with family, the pool was very beautiful with a nice waterfall. March 4, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Struck out due to Spring Training This hotel was not my first or second choice in the area, but the ones I usually stay at were booked due to the opening of Spring Training. Having lived in the area in the l980s I recall the hotel when it was new and loved it then. It is showing it's age, but still is presentable. The cost was out of line with the property in my opinion and I would only stay there again as a third or fourth choice. March 3, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy tired property The hotel needs updating, very noisy along highway. March 3, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Blast from the past... 1970 was a good year for this hotel. Unfortunately they haven't updated it since. Only after I had arrived did my coworkers comment on how sketchy the neighborhood was. The police sirens lulled me to sleep, and greeted me when I awoke, so I knew I would be safe. To be honest, it's a great price for a suite, but you get what you pay for. Great breakfast, and the pool looked great, though I didn't go swimming. March 2, 2015
