I stay at this hotel on a weekly basis with work and the staff are always polite, friendly and helpful. The food and service is always good.
The rooms are always clean and tidy, however some are better than others, with some needing a little bit updating, especially the bathrooms where the showers have seen better days and drip all the time which can be annoying.
Overall I would recommend this hotel to others.

We booked in for two nights to visit relations in Nottingham, I do stay in IHG hotels quite a bit for business use (Spire member) but this hotel does not meet the usual high standards set. The breakfast choice was good but at £10.95 each seems expensive. The meal we had on the first night was adequate but again expensive for the quantity served, the tuna dish was missing the olives? There was also a 10% restaurant service charge that we were not made aware of. The second night we had room service, which was delivered very quickly but with only one knife and fork? The room (214) could really benefit from an update, the bathroom was very cramped and suffered from long black hairs on the floor (definitely not ours!) The extractor fan didn't work either. The fire alarm was activated at 5am the first night and although we got dressed and started to make our way out this turned out to be a false alarm. We did try to phone reception to find out but there was no answer? Needless to say it was difficult to get back to sleep. The desk chair in the room was wobbly and really needs replacing before someone has an accident. The hair dryer also sounded like it was about to give up. The staff, however, were constantly happy and friendly, could not fault them at all. As we were only staying for two nights these comments were not passed on to the management but we feel that something has to be said.
