Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Evening staff lazy or incompetent We enjoyed a pleasant evening in the downtown Chattanooga area. Upon returning to the hotel we were greeted by a young man sitting in the lobby with a lady friend, no one at the front desk? The room key would not function, so I returned to the lobby, to find another guest looking for the front desk staff. We both waited several minutes, and were both informed that "he said he would be right back". I went back to the hallway to tell my wife we should wait downstairs. The front desk clerk was back. Whereupon he re-programmed our key and informed us that he took someone else to our room, entered our room and then he realized this person was not me. "Don't worry we did not touch anything" was the response. No mention of checking an ID of whoever thiserson was. I reported the incident through IHG. Also the next morning explained to the front desk staff. The Hotel manager was good enough to call my home and inform that the points will be refunded, for our inconvenience, but still waiting to see the credit. We will travel to Chattanooga again in February, but unsure if I will give this property a second chance, if the evening staff is that unreliable. December 19, 2014

Comfortable beds, clean and well stocked bathroom. Furniture was in excellent condition and very comfortable. Had a wonderful time at this hotel. December 17, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wouldn't stay here again Horribly disappointed by this hotel. I've stayed in many HIE hotels, and this one was far inferior. In particular, the staff were dreadful. They ran out of everything at breakfast, and no one was eager to replenish things. I even overhead the staff griping that customers were complaining. We're complaining because you aren't doing a good job; stop talking and fix it so that we'll stop complaining. It is that simple. The hotel was at probably half capacity our first night, but even though we're rewards members, we got the terrible room right next to the elevator and ice machine. These didn't bode well for getting a restful night's sleep. Then, on day two, they were packed and ran out of towels. We had zero towels in our room because the staff took the dirty ones and never gave us any new ones. After I got snippy with the front desk clerk, he eventually found 3 towels for us, thank goodness. The room was cramped and the outlets didn't work. The sheets were nice enough, and the bed was so-so. We saw that they are building a new HIE right by the river. I sure hope that one gets better staff. I wouldn't stay at this location again. December 12, 2014
