I picked this hotel because it had 2 queen beds and a double sofa bed. The queen beds were okay. The sofabad was saggy but the girls had a good laugh, were exhausted and fell asleep quickly. The room was big, had plenty of seating...a big chair, a table with two chairs and the sofabed sofa.
Housekeeping was VERY prompt in bringing us extra towels and bedding once I requested it.
This HIE was comfortable (especially compare to the terrible HIE we had been in the previous night), but the floors were all cracking. I'm not sure if there was tile under the carpeting, but the floors were popping as I'd walk to the bathroom. Then in the bathroom itself, tiles were cracked and one tile in particular was popping up and down, which is kind of a safety hazard you'd think?
I don't go around looking for dirt but most of us do have occasion to sit and notice if the bathroom floors are cleaned. Sure enough there was leftover hairs from previous guests. The coffee makers was pretty dusty too..
Another odd thing is that the room was very heavily sprayed with very perfumey deodorizer. We got used to it, but all of us were like WHoa!!! upon arrival in our room.
Breakfast was the usual variety of mediocre buffet items but had lots of choices for everyone in our group.
The location is what drew us here. It is very convenient to Woodbury Commons and saved us money before getting to New York city. It's about one hour's drive away.
While the girls went shopping I made use of the nearby McDonalds. There's a few fast food restaurants, a seafood restaurant and a pharmacy right within walking distance.
I often wonder if I'm being too picky, but the next HIE we stayed at, reminded me of how polished and truly clean a HIE can be. Hopefully management will nip these issues in the bud and provide a property they could be proud of.
Management did contact me (after the post-stay survey?) but never returned my email.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by L. Fradella Excellent Rooms!!!
Everything you can rate a hotel by I would give it 5 stars.....BUT we had a problem sleeping being on the second floor and had a sports team of some sort on the third floor. There were a good 30-40 teenagers up there, so we heard EVERY stomp, run, and jump (yes jump) they made. But it stop somewhere around one in the morning so we were able to get some sleep. Overall before the sports team checked in, it was HEAVEN!
The circumstances that we had wouldn't happen again I'm sure. Only way for you to avoid it is to request a third floor room. The walls were pretty much sound proof, we heard nothing from the rooms beside ours.
The staff was amazing, so amazing in fact that we didn't want to call the front desk to complain. There was nothing they could do.
If you want CLEAN, comfy rooms for a couple of nights, this is the place.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by crs05 Great Service and Very Clean
We stay at HIE's all over the USA and this one, by far exceeded our expectation in regard to cleanliness and service.
Our only concern was that the side entrance door was never locked at night; a room key was not needed to enter - and our room was the first one off the hallway door to the outside!!
I brought this to the attention of the desk staff in person, each evening we were there, and each time they blamed maintenance - but it was not addressed, regardless.
It was very difficult to sleep soundly each night as people entered the building through that door at all hours; knowing it was not locked from the outside, kept me awake most of the night.
