My daughter and I (Mom) arrived in Cortez at 10:30 at night and were excited to be able to feel safe inside Holiday Inn Express. I could not find another hotel in Cortez that entered the rooms from the inside.
The hotel smelled wonderful. No smokey smells at all!
Our room was very clean, the beds and pillows were wonderful. The shower head was strong with different settings. It was so great to be able eat breakfast right there. There was a good variety and it looked like you could take a sack breakfast if requested. The staff was very attentive at the front desk and in the breakfast area.

I fly into and out of Cortez between driving to Monument Valley, UT, on four recent occasions. I always make reservations here. When you first walk in, you know you are in a classy hotel. The décor is bright, clean, local, and cheerful. There is a balcony on the second floor looking down into the lobby. Native Americans are set up at a table in the lobby selling authentic jewelry and even making pottery right there. I always request the highest floor away from the elevator, and my request is always honored. The room was quiet, temperature was comfortable, and the toiletries are provided by Bath and Body -- a Papyra scent, and they are marvelous! Breakfast is varied and, of course, the famous cinnamon rolls are hot and buttery! There is no where else I would ever stay when I visit in Cortez!

We almost exclusively stay at Holiday Inn Express when we travel but this hotel was better than even most Holiday Inns that we have stayed at. The hotel has a great look and feel as you arrive. The amenities are better than most with a great pool/hot tub/sauna. The breakfast was consistent with all other Holiday Inns we have stayed at. The only downside was that the wireless internet was not strong enough to work on any of our devices (laptop, cell phone, or tablet) but we were able to connect via the ether net cable in the room for the laptop.
