Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Duke visit I was in the Durham area with family members who were in Duke University hospital. I initially chose to stay in the Holiday Inn Express Hillsborough because when I arrived in the area at 2 AM it was the first one I saw. I spent the first night there and intended to find a hotel closer to the hospital the following day. Instead, I spent the next few nights there. This decision was due to the staff. Their friendliness, courtesy and helpfulness were the reason I decided to make the 10 minute drive rather than stay at a hotel that was closer and less expensive. I dealt directly with 4 or 5 members of your staff and, without exception, they were fantastic. You have a staff to be very proud of !!!!! February 27, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor customer serivice Unfortunately we had someone try to break into our room late at night. Lucky for us when my husband shouted at the person they left. I called the desk. The person's name was Kathy. All she said was "Oh" nothing else. She did not call back to check on us, say she was sorry or anything. She did not offer to call the police if we felt this was needed.. We were on the first floor very close to the desk. We had stayed at a Holiday Inn in Savannah at the start of our trip 2/14. It was wonderful. February 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Duke Hospital Visit I had to visit Duke University Hospital for a family emergency and decided to stay at the Hillsborough Holiday Inn Express. I didn't know from one day to the next how long I would need to stay. The staff was great, showing their flexibility to my often changing schedule. All in all, this was a nice hotel. But, the staff set this one apart from the rest. Without exception, they were absolutely fantastic. It is evident the entire staff is dedicated to their customer's comfort and satisfaction. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely stay here. Although I rated the breakfast choices at 3, I will have to add there was always a staff member at the breakfast area making sure the food was ready and fresh. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional Place to Stay Stayed one night with 2 children. Room was clean and comfortable with necessary items supplied. Included small refrigerator and microwave which can be handy when traveling with children. Area appeared safe and was quiet. Many places to eat very close to hotel. However, the pet policy was unclear and as a result I was not able to have the type of room I originally booked. However, the staff handled it very professionally and I was pleased with the stay overall. January 14, 2015
