Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Just go "smell the room" I made my reservation on the phone with Holiday Inn Reservations and indicated that I was traveling with a cat. The reservation confirmation indicated that I should confirm directly with the hotel regarding pets. I called the hotel directly, requested a non-smoking room (I was recovering from bronchitis at the time) and they confirmed a non-smoking room and that I was traveling with a pet. When I arrived at 11pm, they told me that they did not have a non-smoking room available for me because of the cat. I indicated that I spoke to Holiday, and to the front desk at that hotel, and all was confirmed. The lady was very rude and told me I should just go "smell the smoking room" they wanted to put me in. She finally agreed to call someone after 15 minutes of pure frustration. Whoever she called agreed to put me in a non-smoking room. Warning to other travelers with pets: Don't trust the fact that you spoke with someone at the front desk if you want a non-smoking pet room. You may be in for a rude awakening like I was. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Best Available The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the rooms at this hotel are always clean, but it's obvious that management isn't investing as much in maintenance and upkeep as they should be. This time it was a freezing cold shower and the heat was either on full blast so the room was a sauna, or off so it was freezing. Last time half the electrical outlets didn't work. The time before that it was broken chair leg patched with duct tape, that almost dumped me in the floor. Another time the refrigerator was broken and the Wi-Fi was dead. Usually not anything major - It's basically just a long series of minor annoyances. Other than the staff, the sole saving grace of this hotel (and the reason I keep going back) is that as frustrating as it can be, it's better than anything else in the immediate area. March 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel on the Hill This hotel was a complete dive. It took the sarcastic desk clerk 3 attempts in booking us this very old, out dated, and in desperate need of a makeover room. First room smelled damp & musky and upon entering the bathroom I soon found the culprit... 2 hugh puddles of what I only HOPE was water on the most hideous looking mud colored dodo brown grout tiled floors. And the phone didn't work. Second room, well I never gained entry because the card key mal-functioned (probably a blessing). It mean't another trip to the desk. Third room wasn't any more pleasing. The heating system was so loud it was senseless having the TV on. Dark old stained carpet, and towels in need of bleach. Just overall dinky. The best thing about this stay was checking out. Side Note: And why would anyone drink from a one cup coffee machine housed in a bathroom. March 6, 2015
