We have been staying at the Holiday Inn for the last 3 years every time we come to Houghton for a home football game and lots of times in between. They are no doubt the best hotel in Houghton. Yes we have tried ALL the others and they are #1, Friendly service, great breakfast, newly remodeled rooms, and everything always just feels clean... I would highly recommend giving them a try! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay, with one complaint. Very nice night and evening staff, great room, nice pool. Loud, continually barking dog early at 6 in the morning in a neighboring room, and less-than-friendly and unapologetic morning desk staff made a great stay average. January 6, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Issues with room We stayed 4 nights and had issues with out key to our room every day. Had to have a person from the front desk let us in our room 4 times. One person sayd this happens with a number of rooms. Really? this need to be fixed. Otherwise a nice stay. Other issues was that the room cleaning crew refused to take anything down from a breakfast tray. Why, first time in 100 stays a year that this happened. January 4, 2013
