Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Holiday change of pace
This was a good experience. Great in everything except one thing and you can't fault a staff over the holiday for drunken guest letting their kids run a muck. Pool rules say no Alcohol. Blue cans of Beer on the table. No Diving or Jumping into pool. Kids Diving & jumping into pool playing football. Throwing football end to end in the pool area.
So that sounds like a big gripe but really, with limited staff it really is minor and the rest was just wonderful on our stay.. The Guy taking care of the breakfast area did a great job keeping up. Many have failed with less people in the Breakfast area. Maids did just as well asking if we needed anything. Can not thank the staff over all for the service.

This is one of my best experiences at any hotel. The front desk staff and the breakfast host were awesome. They really treated us like we were valuable guests. From the friendly greetings by the front desk staff to the instant attentiveness of the breakfast host, this hotel's employees are top notch. Will definitely stay at this hotel if I am ever in Mason City area again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MT13 Cold pool and cold-shouldered staff
We deliberately stayed at this hotel to allow our 4 year old to swim and have some fun before meeting up with family the next day. When we went to the pool shortly after arriving around 2:30 ( (and waiting 15 minutes to check in as there was no one at the desk), we found it to be extremely cold and definitely not pleasant to play in for hours on end. When the older lady at the desk was asked to turn up the heat she was quite rude and abrupt and refused to even listen. Several children persisted in staying in the pool and were turning blue and shivering but soldiering on with the determination of the young. Early the next day we tried again to the same freezing pool and an out of order hot tub.
When we entered one of the rooms our four year found a dirty fork inside the air conditioning unit.
Overall everyone seemed more concerned about a wedding going on with a staff member than any other guest in the hotel.
As I stay in many hotels throughout the year and many of them are Holiday Inns I can certainly say I was very dissapointed in this one.
The only shining star we had was meeting Linda the night auditor and her empathy and good humor saved our impression of your hotel from being a total waste of time and points.
