Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Merced Hotel was very clean and a good deal for the price. We only had two small problems, neither of which took away from the overall experience. There was some noise, both from the hallway and a VERY loud air conditioning unit. Secondly, we tried the pool, which was freezing and had no shallow end for kids. The jacuzzi was kept super hot, and therefore my young kids could not use the pool at all, which was sad for them. Breakfast had a variety of options, all of which were very good. Rooms were clean and well kept, and the internet was fast and reliable. Overall a great stop. August 13, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Average Service We were coming in for a wedding and due to changes in our schedule we needed only one night but needed a place to "hang out" until we left that evening. I asked to extend the check out time on one room and pay the extra and that service was not available. So I had to sit in my car for 2 hours with my children until a family friend was able to help us out. In addition, I asked twice to have the 2 booked rooms near each other and on both calls they said they could accommodate us. However, when we checked in, we got one room on the first floor and the other on the second floor. That just made the stay more complicated and stressful. It was disappointing for the lack of service. We are a family of 5 so splitting up the family is not what we wanted. Other hotels in other chains are able to manage this request when rooms/suite for 5 people are not available. We are IHG members and that seemed to mean nothing as well....what's the point of being a member? August 12, 2014
