I think it would be nice if the liquid creamers were left out when cleaning up after breakfast, for those of us who don't care for the powdered stuff. In fact, there wasn't even any powder stuff left out. I don't understand this as every other HIE I stay at offers creamer for your coffee.
On a positive note, the girl working the front desk-Cindy I believe, was awesome and very helpful with a problem I incurred trying to receive a reciept for my pre-paid stay.
Also cudo's to maintenance for fixing my heater! It was a tad nippy waking up in the morning and I reported it and when I got back to my room that evening it was toasty warm.

Well this is the 2nd year in a row that we have stayed at this same hotel on the way back home after the holidays. We stay there because of the location and they allow pets. We try to pick Holiday Inn over others because they are typically head and shoulders on quality above. If it costs me more I'll pay it to have the nicer hotel.
This hotel for 1 night with a pet was not cheap and was too much for a hotel that appears to be aging and may have been an older hotel converted (if not it's just old). I'm also comparing this to other Holiday Inn Express I've stayed at on the same trip that were MUCH nicer.
The entire pet floor smells to me like an old 'smoking' floor they converted to a pet floor because it smells more like old cigarette smoke than pets. The bathroom in our room had both the sink and shower with EXTREMELY slow drains (I'm talking 30 minutes to drain the tub). Slow drains also have nasty hairs and stuff come back up when clogged so the tub was left of a residue of other peoples hair and nasty dirt residue. I skipped a shower and waited 10 hours later until I got home. Expensive hotel and can't even take a nice shower.
Also if you have kids that are not silent be forewarned. We have 3 kids, and the walls are paper thin (I gently tapped on the wall and you can tell they are thin). Had the manager come up in the evening and tell us to be quiet. I thought Holiday Inn was supposed to be for families? I suppose you need the type of kids that don't speak.
The only pluses I saw were the small fitness room, pool, and breakfast was decent. Other than that I think for this type of quality I will spend half as much and stay in Wytheville at a lower priced alternative. I would not recommend this hotel.
