Great Stay, comfortable beds, clean, great service, easy check in and out

As a frequent traveler and one who stays at Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express whenever and wherever possible, this location needs improvement. It was a Quality Inn in a past life and the transition to Holiday Inn standards must still be occurring. The room offered to me was on the 6th floor, which I later was told "had rooms with no thermostats." Meaning, no control of the hot and cold. That made for a terrible two nights' sleep. An offer was made to switch rooms, but at 1 AM, and I honestly thought I would be able to sleep better the second night, especially after the front desk clerk advised me that someone would fix the temperature control. The location is good - midway between The Fan/Carytown and downtown Richmond, the price is better than downtown hotels, the staff is friendly, the free breakfast is adequate (it is free, after all), although the food and coffee frequently run out. If you stay here, be sure to request a room with a working thermostat. And bring a humidifier......

We are new to the IHG family but continue to be impressed with the level of service at the hotel properties. We checked in to this property and were pleasantly greeted. In fact, Dylan - I think that was his name was more than accommodating, friendly and informative. Really made us feel welcomed and that he was there to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Crazy - customer service in today's world. After checking-in and going to our room we went downtstairs for coffee and again he asked if the room met our expectations and if there was anything else we needed - WOW. The room was great, clean and provided everything we needed. Property does show some age but was a good choice for the value. We made this trip for a local race that was downtown and met friends at another property. For service, convenience and value - we will be back here again.
