I was impressed with the helpfulness of the staff. After a long day in the vehicle it was refreshing to go into the Holiday Inn Express where you are not just another person to be logged into the system and issued a key. They actually care and assisted me

We arrived at this hotel after a long and very tedious day on the road. We checked in and was recognized as Gold Rewards Club members. Good Start. Unfortunately it was downhill from here. We had a confirmed reservations for a King Bed Studio Corner Suite. We got to our room and it was a regular King Bed room, not even a suite. I retrieved a copy of my Reservation Confirmation and went to the front desk and told the person on duty that we were given the wrong room and I showed him my reservation confirmation. He then assigned us a different room. We went to that room and while it was a suite it was not a King Bed Studio Corner Suite. I believe a corner suite means that you are on the corner of the building and have 2 windows in your room. This room did not. By This time were were totally exhausted and rather than have to go back and get the room changed again, we just stayed in that room. We definitely were not satisfied but just too tired to care. When I have a confirmed reservation, I expect to get what I reserved. The room itself was adequate, the grout on the floor in the bathroom was broken and loose. I set the air conditioner fan to "Auto" but it would not go off when it was not cooling. There were other minor discrepancies but I don't want to elaborate on them. The next morning we walked by the front desk on 4 separate occasions and not once did either of the 2 people behind the desk recognize us. They were not working with other guests. Being a Gold Member of the Rewards Club I have stayed in a number of Holiday Inn Express Hotels and on every occasion whenever I went by the front desk someone would greet us and wish us a great day. This was definitely a first and not a pleasant one. I think Holiday Inn needs to revisit the Hospitality Promise. This hotel does not fulfill it. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. My wife and I make frequent trips past this area but we will not stay at this hotel again. I guess we will have to stay with a competitor.
