Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No elevator, no internet, otherwise okay Booked on the hotel website. Stayed for 3 nights. Room on second floor, but there was no elevator in the building. This should have been clearly mentioned on the web page. There was no internet service in the room, none at all. Told the front desk, they said they'll look into it. Nothing happened in 3 days, Other than above issues, it's okay. September 14, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience Until the Last Two Hours The hotel has very nice facility and amenities. Majority of the staffs are friendly and helpful. The location is a little far from downtown Bar Harbor, but not a big concern for us. It's all going well until the last two hours. In the morning of our departure date, we loaded big luggage in the car, went down to the restaurant for breakfast. Went back up to the room, and found out it was all cleaned up and ready for the next guest. And that was an hour before the 11am check out time. Everything we left behind got thrown away. Some of the little things we could buy again. But the Junior Ranger book our son worked really hard on couldn't be replicated on the day we were about to leave. When we checked with front desk, we were told that it's impossible to find the stuff they threw away. You can imagine how upset my son was. To make it worse, my husband decided to take a shower around 10:30am. The housekeeping staffs were pounding on the doors and extremely rude, as they wouldn't want us to use the room any more. ALL before 11 am and before we checked out. Now I have an unhappy son AND an unhappy husband. When talking to the front desk, they made it sound like we were stupid not knowing their express checkout policy. There were no sincere apologies. I hate to give bad reviews. So I made the last try a week ago to call the Holiday Inn customer service. The service rep was very courteous. And promised that she'll ask the manager to contact us within 48 hours. Now over 200 hours have passed, no phone call yet. Extremely disappointed at the customer service of the used to be our favorite hotel chain. I'll think twice before I book with Holiday Inn again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice location and view Was a nice hotel. Had an issue with room assignment but staff very accommodating and room was switched. I would recommend that if you want ocean view get a 2nd floor and up room. The first floor view is very obscured by buildings and foliage. Breakfast was very good and so much to munch on that it would carry you thru lunch. The cable TV not great-had HBO but very snowy. Did not really bother me as nothing good on anyway. The free internet access very slow. The 3G on my phone much faster September 10, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Do not recognize Priority Club Members We called ahead of time asking to check in slightly early and we were given a hard time about it, despite being Platinum members of priority club. Upon check in several other guests were checking in with no problems. The front desk didn't recognize my status, offered no perks and no upgrades. I stayed at this hotel a month prior for work, we had to leave town early due to an illness in a co-workers family, the hotel showed no remorse and charged us for all 3 rooms even though we were checking out before checkout time, but it was a day early. The hotel was not full by any means. We stay there frequently for work - not quite sure why with so many other options that appear to be better. This "resort" doesn't have many amenities. We hoped to use the gym while we were there but found the equipment to be old, not great and in a dirty room. Most recently while we were there for the weekend, after returning from a wedding at 10:45 we found the bar closed... who closes a full hotel that early at night? There were several other weddings staying there. Overall not satisfied with the hotel and would recommend checking another one with more amenities and better customer care. September 10, 2014
