This hotel is very close to the M6 which is very useful but is looking a little bit tired in some areas.
The bar is not as slick as it might be. Staff explaining about new brand of gin which should be served with fruit but then gave my wife her G

I'm in the relatively unique position of having stayed at this Holiday Inn almost every fortnight for nearly six months now, so I'm pretty well acquainted with the property and the staff.
Bedrooms are a bit tired but are undergoing a refurbishment program and the recently modernised bathrooms are excellent - really clean and fresh with great showers and good water pressure. As the showers replace baths, they're also really generously sized - can't wait to see the changes to the bedrooms as these are phased in.
Cleanliness is consistently excellent and sleep quality is very good with the usual HI pillow menus but also surprisingly good sound proofing between rooms (though better at the back of the hotel, as the front does connect to a busy motorway).
Staff are excellent - as a frequent guest, they are extremely friendly, show genuine care and interest for how things are going and remember preferences such as reward type, wake-up calls and dining preferences. Elite status is consistently recognised and rewarded, wake up calls always happen at the scheduled time (and are human, not machine). The reception staff in particular are a testament to this hotel and really do make a huge difference to guest experience - thank you.
Food is very good and the menu has been improving recently with more creative options such as a delicious seafood macaroni cheese dish and customisable pizza flatbreads - there's genuinely enough variety to not get bored of the menu, and the full restaurant menu is available for room service which is generally quick and efficient with orders correctly taken. Pricing is slightly on the expensive side, but in line with other IHG properties.
The one thing the property could really work to improve guest experience is the quality of the wireless internet connection. At present, this is fairly slow, drops out intermittently and isn't really fit for purpose beyond checking emails - which can sometimes be a struggle. As the property has weak mobile phone signal on all the networks I've tried, Wi-Fi really is an essential part of the experience and it would be good to see the capacity improved in the future.
Overall, though, I continue to be extremely satisfied with the Holiday Inn Warrington - primarily due to it's excellent staff.

Have stayed here many times before, staff always friendly and helpful and was upgraded to an executive room as a Spire Elite Member after asking, which was at the end of the corridor which I prefer for a peaceful nights sleep. Will return here again when needing to stopover in the area.

exactly what we needed. convenient position,just off the motorway. a lovely room with a comfy bed and a superb bathroom. the breakfast was amazing. the whole stay was great value for money

I have stayed at this hotel on several occassions with business. They only reason i stay is the locality to my site. I have not stayed once where there has not been an issue with the restaurant, the restaurant really lets the hotel down. This time i arrived and was aksed if i wanted to book a table for dinner to which i did (i thought i would give the hotel the benefit and see if things had improved) only to receive a call at 7 to say that i could no longer have my 7.30 reservation as they were not taking anymore food orders until 8pm. Due to past experiences i knew i would not get my dinner to at least 8.45 regardless of how busy the restaurant was. I cancelled and ordered a take away. When i was aksed the next day how my stay was i politely gave my feedback and was told there was only one chef on. When your hotel is fully booked i would expect you to have thr staff in to service thr customers. And finally if you ever stay here please ensure you are not in room 10 right next to the lift. Its the noiseiest room ever!
