All staff were excellent.room clean and tidy,although lacked a couple of basic essentials but this is due to COVID which is understandable.would return again.

Covid 19 Stay

Hotel is clean and tidy and well maintained but out room shower was loose off the wall which I thought would have been sorted in all rooms since they were closed for a few months. Breakfast box and butty are OK if you eat red meal but limited for others. A scrambled egg butty is not my favorite thing to eat in a morning.

Otherwise it was a pleasant stay close to petrol station and morrisons. Close to Leigh stadium so be good if visiting for a sporting event.

Tried hard

We were welcomed by the staff and allocated a room close to the lift. The room looked clean but we wondered why the sofabed had been set up when we booked for a double room. I decided to fold up the sofabed to make a sofa but realised that it was broken. When we called reception to report the bed and lack of towels the receptionist came to the room quickly, confirmed that they knew about the sofabed and asked if we wanted to be moved. We moved along the corridor to another room. That room had a drainage problem, the washbasin drained very, very slowly.
My evening meal from the limited menu was good.
In the morning we found that the shower had a drainage problem and the bathroom floor flooded. We stopped the water from reaching the carpet and the shower slowly drained. Only one of us had a shower. I showered when I reached home.
Breakfast was limited, the staff coped well, there was a large group in another room.
We reported the drainage problems when we left. We will stay at Leigh again but suspect that more staff would make the service better. Difficult at the current time.

We’ve stayed here several times now and never been disappointed - the staff were again superb. The bathroom fittings were looking a bit more tired than previously (one of the towels was ripped and some tiles were marked) but it was clean as usual. We ate in the restaurant for the first time and were very disappointed with the food which was very average...we hope that this is because of problems caused by the current virus? We’d certainly stay there again though and we still recommend this place as great value for money.

This was our 4th hotel stay post lockdown as we were travelling to North Scotland to see family. Leigh SV Holiday Inn Express has got it ALL wrong. I won't be going back even when COVID has gone.
The room was booked for 2people yet we only had 1 towel and half a toilet roll for our stay. There was 1 thin pillow each. I had to ring down for more meaning a member of staff had to find and handle these things straight to me.
Breakfast was an absolute farce. All the other hotels have managed to maintain serving you what you require whilst distancing from others. Having a paper bag full of things that have been overly chilled (croissant and muffins were disgusting),cheap tasteless juice, butter that could break a window and bad fruit... that you had no choice in their contents was poor. A hot roll was available made by someone wearing the same pair of gloves to serve/hand over the roll to everyone. You could have 2 items even though there were 3 choices buy no sauce or butter and you had to collect it on way in. Tea/coffee made for you in horrid paper cups... they put sugar in etc without you seeing cup size.
If other hotels can manage it safely yet a good offering why can't IHG... SO disappointed in them.

As always we stay here on business and like I have said on many occasions the food choice needs to vary on a regular basis. The breakfast needs to be varied a little with option for eggs etc.
