I think it is in the best location, but I think there is a definition behind the word "Express" for example, I see that the bedsheet/blanket/pillow cover does not change so often, sometime a week. The glasses that I use in the room does not change everyday. This is a two weeks stay so I pretty much know what I'm talking about. I extent one more day with the reception and the cleaning lady just enter my room without knocking, with her paper on hand and ask are you staying one more night / or you extending the night! I was not ready for a guess outfit in my room and she didn't even close the door for me to put on appropriate attire. I have to change the room one night because the shower door was broken, and that same night someone try to come into my new room #door already open# and they pushed so hard but could not get in because of the security locked. Well this is some of the sample of my two week stay, I think I can write a diary of Express Hotel!!! What an experience, next time I need to be careful with hotel with a name "Express". And if you have any question please let me know. July 3, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A enjoyable experience We enjoyed our stay in Rotterdam Holiday Express for many reasons: Great location, close to both the train station and the cruise ship dock: Great service at check in, specifically arranging for a taxi to take us to the Cruise ship. The breakfast offered a good selection of quality food, in a quiet clean environment. The front desk also arranged for our friends to park in the hotel facilities while we went to dinner with them on our final night there. Overall, a classy hotel!!! June 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff! The hotel is typical for a European HIE. It has a good location because it is near to the central station. The main difference for me was the staff. Every employee at this location was friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome during my first visit to Holland. I had the opportunity to meet staff from all shifts because of the nature of my business trip. All of my questions and requests were addressed in a friendly and professional manner. As a long time Platinum member who travels worldwide, I can honestly say that the staff at this hotel is the best I have experienced at any hotel, regardless of the brand. Please let all of your team know that they are doing a fantastic job! June 25, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff and comfortable bed This is a hotel I use regularly when I visit Rotterdam, so I was a little surprised that the booking experience was not so good this time. As normal, I tried to book through the IHG site (which I do for all my worldwide travel), finding via that route that the hotel was fully booked, which I thought strange. So I contacted the hotel directly by email and was informed that the reason for full booking showing up is that there is a minimum 2 night stay (which would be waived on this occasion as I was a Platinum member), but also as it was a busy time the rate was almost twice that of a normal stay, and the normal rate I have paid previously. A suspicious person would conclude that in fact I had paid for 2 nights! I wasn't aware beforehand that there could be a minimum stay period and further that prices would be so radically affected by occupation rates- this does not seem to be a policy normally throughout IHG. I did then book directly with the hotel however, as the hotel is convenient and I do find the staff and experience there very good indeed, as was the case again this time. Would like some clarity on the hotel policies however. June 19, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room in excellent condition but basic I stay in Rotterdam several times a year, had chosen this hotel based on location (meetings close to the train station). Good: the soundproofing of the room (overlooked very busy street), condition of the rooms (looked new), air conditioning. Poor: the equipment of the room; no safe, no fridge, only one type of tea provided... The cleanliness: the staff spends a lot of time cleaning the room and obviously tries very hard, shower is always sparkling clean. But although they vacuumed, I question the quality of their vacuum cleaner, the carpeting was never clean (some flakes - dried out paint? - fell from under a shelf onto the carpet during our stay and were never completely gone). No brush for the toilet. Bedding: pillows were supposed to come in two levels of hardness, but only hard pillows were provided, which were VERY hard. Upon complaining at the desk, we received two new pillows, one was soft, but the other was not much different from the previous ones. June 19, 2015
