The area of the hotel is questionable but the hotel was clean and comfortable. Everything was great except the breakfast lady was a little slow on keeping the coffee hot and food replenishment. And one other small thing, the tv remote sucked, too modern to understand . Will definitely stay again.
Helpful staff members, clean rooms, and friendly atmosphere.

I travel for medical issues and I've stayed at numerous hotels in the Charleston area. I choose to continue to stay at this location because it's easy to get to my appointments, several restaurants and stores are near the hotel. The staff members are incredibly helpful to me regarding the accommodations I need for medical assistance. They maintain their professionalism when dealing with demanding guests and people who don't have reservations and are rude if they don't have any availabilities. I have personally witnessed that on numerous occasions. The management team addresses any issues that you have right away. I had an incident with a gentleman who wasn't a guest or employed at the hotel. He was employed at the hotel next to this location. I spoke with Jeremy about the issues and he immediately took care of it. This hotel feels like home away from home. I love staying here.

We enjoyed our stay and everyone was so nice and helpful! Thank you for a great stay!! If our dance team dances again here we will be back for sure!
The whole staff was helpful with setting up for an impromptu party for our dancers and didn’t bat an eye when asked if we could have it
Great stay for our capital tour.

We were there for a night for a capital tour. The lady at the front desk fixed our rooms so we were side by side with our tour group. Pool was clean! Breakfast was amazing! Close to the mall and lots of places for us to have dinner!

Every employee at the hotel was fantastic. Always eager to help out and asking if I needed anything. Food was great, entire facility was clean. Nicole was forever asking if everything was great. She greeted all guest with the same enthusiasm. She is a great asset to the staff there.
Wouldn’t stay again.

Walls are paper thin, neighbours next door alarm went off for 1/2 hour starting at 4 a.m. Finally shut it off only to start buzzing again in 10 minutes, couldn’t sleep, my husband went to the front desk to complain, couldn’t find anyone, came back to the same buzzing, made a second trip to the desk. Had to search for staff who were behind closed doors preparing breakfast. Once staff checked on the occupants, it finally stopped buzzing 1 1/2 hours later.
No body wash in the shower dispenser. Coffee in the lobby was so weak, like dirty water. Breakfast looked like it had been sitting there all night. No comforters on the bed, only linens and a blanket. Very disappointed in our stay.

I've stayed at different locations but this one is my favorite. It's smaller, but the rooms are big, friendly staff, Trevor and Hannah are awesome and very helpful and they go above making sure customers are taking care of. Housekeeping works very hard and the rooms are extremely clean.

Excellent customer service from the entire staff and management team. Hannah, Trevor go above and beyond making sure customers are taken care of. David in housekeeping also goes above and beyond helping customers and making sure they have everything in their rooms for their stay. I highly recommend this location.

We've stayed in 4 different Holiday Inn Express hotels in the past 60 days. This is the only one we have taken off our 'stay again' list. There was hair on the shower wall and mold on the window frames. The room lay-out was awkward, with the room door between the vanity and the toilet/bath room. The breakfast was not as good as the other 3 either - pancakes not quite cooked through, egg patties (?) unappetizing, etc. Everything was just sub-par. The only exception was the staff - they were friendly and helpful.

I have never done a review before but this hotel needs to be reported. Upon check in, it was complete chaos. A guest in front of us, whom we thought was being a "Karen", was complaining about having to move to a third room due to condition of all of the rooms. Upon us coming in with our items, she was leaving the property. We went to our room. The carpet outside our room had not been vacuumed and was very dirty. We went to sit on the couch, but it was so covered in stains we had to use our only two bath towels to put down to be able to sit on it. Went to use the microwave and the plate in the microwave was covered in what looked like vomit. It was, however, molded oatmeal. We cleaned this off. Went down to the front desk and informed them of what we had found and got more towels so we could shower. We also had to ask for soap as there was none in a room. In the bathroom, the toilet tank cover did not fit. When we went to take a shower and close the curtain, a dried / used washcloth fell off of the shower curtain. This meant to us that this room had not been cleaned. We were very hesitant to stay the night but had no choice as my husband is a truck driver and we had run out of hours and couldn't legally move to another location. In the morning we complained to the clerk on duty, yet again, and was informed they were having staffing issues, a new GM that he didn't know and didn't know how to get in touch with. To make a long story short, as I could go on, I have called twice, and been told I could get a $50 credit only as we did stay in the room. This is unacceptable. A full refund is being demanded. On my call on April 2, I was put on hold and when they came back was told the manager that was there would issue a $50 refund and that is all they could do. I asked to speak to that manager and was told, "sorry, he just left to go to our companion property next door". When demanded again a full refund, was told we could have gone to their property next door. Was never given this option, and would not have done that as why would I expect it to be any better. Each time we were told, sorry, we are having housekeeping and management issues, as well as, being told,"people make mistakes". This room was ridiculously priced. Shouldn't be IHG!!! If I wanted to stay at a Motel "*", i would have stayed at one

While it could have been worse, it definitely wasn’t good. The smell of chlorine was overpowering in the lobby and there was an overall musty smell even in our room on the 3rd floor. At first glance the room seemed clean, but there were crumbs across the room that should have been picked up from a vacuum if it were ran.
Our room was towards the freeway and it was loud. There seemed to be no sound barrier and we heard traffic and trains all night long.
Breakfast was laughable. The cooler that held the yogurt and milk was locked. The staff said the person who sets up the breakfast didn’t show and they didn’t have a key to unlock it. The microwave didn’t work properly either, so making oatmeal wasn’t an option. We just needed a place to sleep, so it served its purpose but was definitely a disappointment compared to other locations we’ve stayed before.

My wife and I had to change our room 4 times before we actually found a room that looked clean enough to sleep in.
The room we ended up with still had issues with the bathroom and there was only one bath towel and 2 wash cloths in the room for us to use.
It didn't seem like there was a lot of pride in the hotel.
