Conner Prairie is the Smithsonian Museum Institution’s only Indiana affiliate. As you explore five themed historic areas on 200 beautiful, wooded acres, you’ll discover more ways to experience the past then your family or group can pack into a day. Don’t worry if the weather is bad. Visit the Welcome Center and explore Discovery Station, Craft Corner or the Wagonmaker’s Shop, where children can play, learn and create all year long. Also check out the 1859 Ballon Voyage for a 350ft high thrill!

Indiana State Museum

Constructed from limestone, sandstone and other indigenous materials, the Indiana State Museum building is an exhibit unto itself, its walls and grounds including artworks representing each of the state's 92 counties. Inside, the museum gives a hands-on, three-story overview of Indiana's history--from its prehistory, to its 1816 statehood, to the present day. In addition to permanent and changing exhibits, the museum houses a six-story IMAX movie screen and two restaurants.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the world's largest spectator sporting facility. It plays host annually to four events in three major racing series: Grand Prix of Indianapolis, Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400 and Red Bull Indianapolis GP. The Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400 take place on the 2.5-mile oval, while the Grand Prix of Indianapolis and Red Bull Indianapolis GP are contested on different configurations of the IMS road course. Also featuring the Hall of Fame Museum.
