Great hotel! as a Platinum member, got upgraded to a Junior suite - Room was large, with a seating area. Super clean room, felt modern and nice. Bathroon was huge, and the bathtub was great!
Breakfast at the restaurant was good (though the omelette station is not very accessible and not user-friendly - until day 3, I wasn't even aware they had a station there!). Club lounge is the usual basic European lounge (not like those in Asia), nice snacks for dinner (though sometimes there was nobody to replenish beer or snacks).

The room at the 9th floor was large and the view great. Also it was nice to have the room next to the lounge.

Upon arrival: no beers in the minibar. housekeeping forgot to check is my guess.
Returning to the hotel after a day of work: minibar not restocked. Upon transfer to a non-smoking floor and room, It turns out the previous hotel guest has exchanged the contents of the beer bottles with water. Housekeeping didn't check. Again.

While I love this hotel, the staff, the restaurant with fantastic food, and the comfort, I'm afraid it's let me down again.
I booked one of the club rooms on the 9th floor. I'm always on business when I visit and I have to be connected - day and night.
Since the WiFi provider has changed in this hotel the whole experience is shockingly bad. My room only received a stable signal when standing right next to the door, or in the bathroom.
The problem is made worse by whenever a device loses the WiFi signal, even for a few seconds, you have to reconnect, then re-launch a browser, then agree to the terms to get the connection back. I lost count of how many times I had to do this on each of my devices!!! Exceptionally time consuming and frustrating.
Being a business customer, it's essential the WiFi works. I have two laptops, an iPad and a couple of phones that I need to be connected. The rooms are advertised with WiFi but this is not the case in reality. It was not possible to use a computer at the desk or any of the other wireless devices from the room itself, unless you wanted to work from the toilet.
After years of using this hotel, the issues effect our productivity running our business. Unfortunately we will probably look for an alternative hotel for our next trip - which is a shame, as it's completely down to a 3rd party provider for the wireless.
Very disappointing and not the first time I've highlighted this to management.

Wonderful weekend in hotel Crowne Plaza Helsinki. Good location and very nice , clean hotel. Very helpful service in hotel.

I enjoyed my stay in Crown Plaza, and the staff satisfied my need as higher floor and good view. Service is good but still there is space for improvement. Would love to stay there again next time.

I picked this hotel because it is one of the few Helsinki hotels with the swimming pool. A friend and I went for sauna and swim. There was bathrobe in the room, but no slippers. They usually come together, or not at all. One would expect to get them by the pool, but no, they were to be found by reception. We did not bother going up from the pool area, walked barefoot instead.
Then at the swimming pool there was some Aqua something lesson, so we were limited to one small part of the (small) pool, and also told (in Finnish, naturally) to be silent, not no interfere with the class. The teacher later on put 'Do not enter' sign, so noone else would come in. The time was perfectly normal for a business traveller to go for a swim, 6:30PM or so.
On the plus side, everything else was spot on, super efficient check in, great bed, quiet room, Priority Club recognition, tasty breakfast with nice pink grapefruit juice.

Hotel looks lovely. Clean reception area and nice looking room. This is where it all ends. My room was not cleaned and made up properly each day, bed linen had a massive tear in it, pillows and duvet seemed to be just thrown on the bed each day.
The service in the restaurant was painfully slow. Took 2 hours from sitting down to get our mains. Asked for salt and pepper and 20 minutes later it showed up just as I was finishing. The only thing the waiter had to say about the slow service from the kitchen was that "the chef must be out catching the fish".
Not Good at all!
