Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient for Transiting Helsinki My husband and I stay at the Holiday Inn Vantaa hotel when flying from Helsinki to other destinations. We travel by train from our home in North Karelia and overnight at the Vantaa Holiday Inn for an early flight the next day. This allows us to be rested and ready for travel on the day of the flight. We consistently stay at the Holiday Inn Vantaa because it is conveniently near the airport, it provides free transportation to the airport, meals are good, sleeping accommodations are comfortable and quiet, and prices are reasonable. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great room and service Nice Holiday inn with a good restaurant. Rooms are large and adequate working space. My only issue was with the fitness (gym) center, everything was broken on my last stay. The treadmill and step machine did not work. Many of the other multi-station equipment was broken. This was disappointing. Hopefully it will be fixed when I return in mid-March. This is why the facilities got a "con" rating. February 22, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not A Happy Camper Requested a H/C room and was given one on the 1st floor and that is when I was completely forgotten about also the room for 2 days. The room was VERY COLD w/controls that DID NOT WORK. The shower was not too much better. Did have luke warm water at times. NO ROOM SERVICE for the 2 days. Bed was NEVER made, trash can NEVER empied. Slept in my clothes the 2nd night to keep warm. Had breakfast morning of check in. Meats was very cold and the eggs was tasteless. Bread was hard and oldl. Would not take breakfast on the 2nd day. Meals (evening) was not as good as last year. Asked front desk to change a small amount of US Dollars to Euros for bus fares to town and was refused. Asked front desk the Sauna location and was told so after going to the 2nd floor found out the Sauna was still closed. They (front desk) could have saved me time and steps by telling me the hours of the Sauna, especially since I walk with a cane. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER WITH THIS STAY, ESPECIALLY SINCE I AM A GOLD AMBASSADOR. February 15, 2013
