Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good bed, rest of room okay (old style Holiday Inn) Hotel is an older Holiday Inn, so not as good as newer Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Expresses are. Bed are up to date, but heating/cooling is still old style (no thermostat to accurately set desired temp - just knobs on window system that you have to guess at temp). Bathroom in room had been redone, but carpeting was old and worn/stained. November 21, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Louisville Hotel is an excellent value. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Restaurant has a lot to be desired. Very tired looking and they ran out of food on Saturday night for dinner. Bar are was understaffed for a function. November 13, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend away The room was nice and the staff were great. The toilet ran constantly and the a/c unit was loud. The mail bar downstairs said, they did not serve champagne. I was surprised since they have wedding receptions there all them time. November 13, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Stay Somewhere Else We checked in on Friday November 7, 2014 without any problem. But when we got to the 7th floor the construction noise was deafening. The website said renovations would start on November 10, 2014. My cousin’s room was down the hall and they were right under the noise and unable to take the afternoon nap they had planned. After several telephone calls my cousin and his wife were given a free breakfast pass with something written on them like “excuse the construction”. Saturday morning my cousin and his wife and I and my wife have breakfast in the hotel. I get the bill and my cousin gives me his two breakfast passes. I go to the cashier and hand her the breakfast coupons and she barks “those are not being accepted today.” I said go talk to the front desk and I will sit down and drink coffee. We are seated right by the cashier and she never came back to inform of what was going on. I waited about 15 minutes and went back up to het then she snaps “these are only good for two breakfasts.” I told her I knew that and paid for the remaining breakfasts. The $9.95 breakfast buffet was OK but you had to get your own water and refills. So after breakfast we have about an hour before leaving for Churchill Downs. My wife is in the bathroom and I am sitting at the desk in the room when the door opens up. Standing there is a lady with her suitcase. She had a key to my room which was occupied! I immediately called the front desk and it rings and rings and no one answers. I get on the elevator, go downstairs to the desk and there is the poor lady listening to the desk clerk apologize. I then ask the desk clerk how this could happen. The clerk informs me the “the computer shows it to be an empty clean room” and I ask how could that happen. The clerk is now trying to explain their computer program is messed up because the hard registration card or something shows that I am in the room. I ask what will keep this from happening again and she tries to explain without satisfying me and I ask to speak to a manager. She stonewalls me and assures me that management is aware of the problem. I don’t have time to discuss this since it is now time to leave for the track. We go to the track and come back and I stop at the desk and the lady that checked me in was there. We discuss the incident; she apologizes and asks if we want free breakfast coupons. I said no “just knock a bit off my bill.” I go to the room and see that housekeeping has not been there. I go back to the desk, talk to the same lady and ask for towels and coffee. I get my bill the next day and they have knocked $15.00 off my bill. The breakfast coupons would have been worth $19.90. I won’t even go into the long, long wait to get a drink from the bar.
