CÓMO LLEGAR AL HOTEL

RECOMENDACIONES
LOCALES

UN DÍA PERFECTO

MAÑANA

Early birds can take a walk down to Lake Michigan to enjoy a spectacular sunrise. The scenery is beautiful, and there are plenty of jogging and walking trails. The Milwaukee Public Market is open early for fresh bakery - try C. Adams. And for a great coffee go for local roaster Cedarburg Coffee Company. For a taste of Milwaukee culture, visit one of our many breweries for a memorable tour. Or, take a short walk to Old World Third Street. Here you can visit Usinger's Famous Sausage Factory and purchase fresh bratwurst, or taste some real Wisconsin cheese at the Wisconsin Cheese Mart and Cheese Bar.

TARDE

Drop into the Milwaukee Public Museum to see its superb collection of natural history and science exhibits, then maybe catch a movie at the IMAX theater. Art lovers should visit the Milwaukee Art Museum ─ the building itself is a work of art, designed by the celebrated architect Santiago Calatrava. If you're here during the summer months, visit the lakefront where many annual festivals, such as Festa Italiana or Irish Fest, are held. Milwaukee also hosts the largest outdoor music festival in the USA, SummerFest, beginning the last week of June and running through the first week of July. If you're here in the winter, go ice skating at Red Arrow Park, located across the street from our hotel.

NOCHE

Our city is nationally recognized for its fantastic cultural scene. The Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, Pabst Theater and Milwaukee Theater are just a few of the venues offering drama, dance, opera and music performances. After a show, stroll down Milwaukee Street to experience some of the city's hottest nightlife. Enjoy one of the best mojito's in the city at Cubanitas before enjoying an inspiring dinner at Umami Moto, one of Milwaukee's hippest new restaurants. Jazz enthusiasts should head down to the historic Fifth Ward to Caroline's, one of the best jazz and blues bars in town. During the summer months, parks throughout the city offer plentiful options for live music and people watching.

CONSEJOS DE UN EXPERTO

CULTURA LOCAL

Churches

There are several beautiful churches of different denominations in the city. Contact the Concierge to find out where and when to go.

Melting-pot City

As Milwaukeeans, we pride ourselves on the diversity of our city. We recognize our culture with annual festivals such as Polish Fest, African World Day, Festa Italiana, Irish Fest, Fiesta Mexicana and many more.

Tipping

When dining out or visiting a bar, it is standard to offer a 15-20 percent gratuity.

WHAT TO PACK

During the winter, come prepared with heavy clothing to stay warm while touring the city. In the summer months, temperatures can be cool in the evenings, so bring a light jacket.

¿SABÍA QUÉ? ?

Baseball History

The Milwaukee County Stadium was demolished in 2001 and has been replaced by the impressive Miller Park Stadium; a 400 million dollar construction with a one-of-a-kind retractable roof.

Beer

Milwaukee is known as 'Brew City' for a reason. There are many breweries open for tours including Miller, Sprecher and Lakefront.

Landmarks

The Allen Bradley clock tower is the largest four-faced clock in the world. It's octagonal faces are twice the size of London's Big Ben which remains the largest four faced chiming clock in the world.

Milwaukee Art Museum

The Milwaukee Art Museum is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm and has a complete collection of art ranging from Anciet Egyptian to Impressionism and contemporary pop art. The cafe and gift shop are open to the public without admission fee so the landmark architecture is acessible to all. The celebrated addition to the art museum opened in October 2001. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, it was his first North American commission.

Milwaukee History

The name Milwaukee is derived from a Native American word 'miliocki', which translates to 'gathering around the water'.

QUÉ METER EN LA MALETA

Cash

There is no foreign currency exchange facility at the hotel, so remember to bring some dollars with you.

Credit cards

Credit cards are acceptable methods of payment for nearly everything. Whether you're shopping, dining out or in need of a taxi, paying with a credit card is safe and easy.

Summer

Temperatures at the lakefront can be cooler in the summer time, so bring a light sweater if you plan to attend festivals in the evenings.

Winter

The winter months can be very cold in Milwaukee. Be sure to pack a warm jacket and proper walking shoes so you can enjoy all the sights of the city, even in the snow.

Winter shoes

If you visit in the winter months, we recommend you bring boots or warm shoes as the walkways can be snow-covered and slippery.
