Bed was not comfortable.

The breakfast needs improvement. The bed was not comfortable. The room was not ready after checking us in and giving us the key, had to wait in the hallway while they were still cleaning the room.

Horrible Room Layout

I am forever loyal to IHG and majorly Holiday Inn Expresses. When i arrived here, due to my Diamond Elite status, my room was automatically upgraded for free by the front desk to a large king suite of some sort. This is not a problem, i of course appreciated this. However, Where the bed is placed in relation to the wall that the TV is mounted on makes it NEARLY impossible to clearly see and watch the TV from the bed! The wall mount that the TV is on does not extend nor swivel to angle the TV to face the bed. This extremely ruined to ability to kick back and relax from the bed and watch TV as you can only view it from a super steep side angle and is just horrible. Very much disappointed with my stay due to just this ONE issue that i outlined. Like i said, i am big time long time member with IHG and 90% of the time stay at Holiday Inn Expresses many times a month and year as i travel very frequently for work. With that being said, everything else regarding this hotel was perfectly fine and up to the brands normal standards. Why was this room layout approved? Hope its changed and never used again.

Was a nice stay. Indoor pool. Clean sheets. Nice receptionist when we came in. Thought check out was at 3 online but its 11 but overall the stay was peaceful and nice.

The bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice.

Everything was fine with this room except for a loud clicking sound that was coming from the lights on either side of the bed. They clicked about every 5 minutes through the entire night. It was very irritating.

Amazing remodel

During our trip, it was comforting that the hotel was remodeling because it was a good feeling to know that everything in our room was new. The furniture, beds, restroom, and the experience was just so wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Dallas!

Hotel was under renovation and still paid full price

We booked 2 weeks before our stay and paid full price for a suite with an additional room, but we were not informed that the hotel was under renovation or that some of the amenities would not be available to us.
We arrived late and were told at check-in that we would be able to use the pool.
We went up to our suite, the front door was damaged like someone had tried to break into it. We entered to find a regular room, not the suite we had paid for. I went down to ask about the room and was told that that is what their suites are like and that that was the only available suite.

Thinking there was no point making a big deal about it now, and at least we can enjoy the pool, I asked for some towels and went back up to get the family. We got ready and came down and tried to access the pool only to find our key would not work.

Back at the desk, there was someone else attending and they told us that the pool was not accessible. I explained that we were informed otherwise and they called the manager who said that due to the construction, they had some chemicals in the pool and it was not available at this time...

Really frustrated at this point, we just went back up and got ready for bed.
We needed bed sheets and pillows for the sofa bed and I requested those as well. The pillows smelled really bad and so we ended up not using them and just shared the pillows that were clean from the beds.

The bathroom was missing toothpaste but thankfully we had our own so it was not an issue.

In the morning we went down for breakfast, and they had set up in a small "conference" room due to the renovation work going on in the main area. The selection was very poor. and the items we tried were not tasty at all. My kids only tasted some of the food and then refused to eat anything at all. We ended up going out to get breakfast as well.

We have stayed at Holiday Inn Express before and never had such a bad experience.
I will be contacting the management and requesting compensation for this visit.

Under construction and not great staff

We had a lot of problems....
I'll keep it short

Pool was closed

Conference room was closed

Room transfer request was denied (we had 5 rooms)

Room floor transfer was accepted, but then they didn't do it ....2 days in a row.

Front desk really didn't know anything

Service was super slow checking in

Half the place was under construction....the room was good...but even the entrance/hall had no floor

breakfast room was moved

Breakfast had mold on multiple items

Our rooms were fresh (but smelled like paint)

It just seems like they were not ready and staff is not trained.

Terrible place to stay

Hotel was completely under renovation, although nothing on the site mentioned that fact. Breakfast was in an empty room and you had to take it back to your room to eat it, as there was no place to sit. Front desk was a table in a hallway, and they said they were not able to create a receipt or give me an electronic bill.
Ridiculous. Never again!!

Construction

There was no warning that the hotel lobby was under construction. The hotel was filled with dust and construction noise. We should have been warned or given a discount due to this. There was no where in the hotel to sit and relax due to the lobby being closed. The pool was closed, which was not disclosed either. The "state of the art" gym was well less than desirable and dusty as well. There were like 5 seats in the conference room for people to sit and eat. We had 5 of our team there, so even if we wanted to we couldn't have eaten breakfast together. I understand these things have to happen, but there should be some kind of disclosure ahead of time or a discount given.
