Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 A port in the storm! I was travelling by motorcycle from Florence South Carolina that day when I became lost and frightened when an electrical storm blew up suddenly. I took the first exit I could safely get to and found this hotel. I was warmly welcomed by the front desk staff and quickly received a room. What a joy to enter a warm dry well equipped room after a long scary ride. The shower was fantastic and the bed! Oh my goodness it was extremely comfortable. Upon check out the following day, dry, warm and well rested the staff gave me excellent directions to where I was headed and wished me a safe journey. Thanks for a great stay, I will be back to check out your hotel amenities. Pat May 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic staff It was a quick trip for us as we were in from Long Island, NY for the Mets/Pirates game. It was our first trip to Pittsburgh. If we come back, and I'm sure we will, we would definitely stay here again. As a family on a budget, we often stay at Holiday Inns and they never disappoint us. The staff at this one, especially the shuttle drivers, were super-friendly. And with their shuttle service into the city, there's really no need to pay the extra money to stay at a hotel downtown. Wish we could have stayed longer. Really enjoyed our first trip to Pitt. May 30, 2015

They serve hot breakfast every day, indoor clean pool, and professional staff all the way around. Overall great place to stay while in Pittsburgh. May 29, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Location but Poor Service by staff There is only one shuttle available for and to drop and pickup and you need wait for minimum one hour for your turn. Room services people do not check with the Reception and they just enter and clean the room. If you are vacating then they throw your stuff away before you vacate the room. What will happen if you left any valuable things before I vacate the room? May 28, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hope Your Room has Internet! Overall, this was a very nice hotel. Extremely quick and easy access to downtown Pittsburgh while still being out of the center of the city. We were able to get to all of our destinations - Station Square, Carnegie Science Museum, Heinz Field, Carnegie-Mellon University, and a few other places within in less than 15 minutes. The hotel is very modern and clean. Great atmosphere when you walk in the front doors. The room was nice and updated, although we got a corner room which meant we got a smaller bathroom and NO TUB (which was an issue since we have 3 children aged 4 and under). However, we were able to make the shower work for our needs. The WORST thing about the hotel/our room was the LACK OF INTERNET. To say it was unreliable is a complete understatement. IT DID NOT WORK. Since there's not really children's TV channels available, we counted on the iPad and internet connection for our kids to be able to watch their little cartoons. We couldn't even get the Internet to work on our phones or computer!! Although we mentioned it to the hotel manager who kind of shrugged and said, "oh, well. it's kind of like that", we got no help with it at all. We ended up having to use our PERSONAL Hot Spot on my husband's phone and chewed through most of our personal data on our phone plan! Very uncool. We would stay at this hotel in the future if we were visiting Pittsburgh again, but would be sure to be prepared to have some other access to the internet. May 28, 2015

There was a very pleasant young women at the front desk that was extremely helpful. And we both enjoyed the continental breakfast. Always a plus when you are on the move as we were. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Comfortable and Clean - HIE Always as Expected! This Holiday Inn Express (HIE) is relatively new based on the web site, and it is a very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly, the rooms comfortable, and the breakfast was exactly as expected and very good. This is why I go to HIE so often - I always know what to expect, including good service.
