Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Team members are superb~ Based on hundreds of stays in multiple states and countries, (I usually don't stay in a hotel, but a resort since I own timeshare), this was a pretty terrific location and compassionate staff. The drive in to Louisville where my grandson was participating in the National Archery Tournament was only 30 minutes, and just what I wanted (in order to keep away from the traffic and airport noise). If you have any problems, address them with the caring manager Toni, or any of her staff, and she will take care of it. She was experienced and had the ability to take care of any issues without having to bring someone else in to equation. Additionally, the breakfast selections here are just what they all are- -only with a very attentive staff person named Maria. She is productive, but also compassionate to the needs of the guests. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Housekeeping Two couples traveling together, we were shocked to discover that both rooms we were assigned on the 3rd floor ? had not been cleaned or were given a hit and miss cleaning. One room had used soap in the bathroom along with the shampoo and conditioner left there. The other room had a Keurig with the used pod and a cup partially filled with coffee. At our request we were moved to rooms on the 1st floor. One room was cleaned okay but room # 107 had very poor housekeeping. The mirror was spotted with water spots and toothpaste. I hated to complain about another dirty room so I asked for and received a window cleaner from the desk clerk but it really only smeared the mirror. The sheets barely fit on the beds. I did check the sheets and believe they were fresh but it gave me an unpleasant feeling after finding plastic cup stuffed under the upholstered chair. When I sat in the chair, I could see that a pair of a man's socks was under the luggage bench. All in all, this Holiday Inn Express was more on the order of a run down hotel that was being poorly managed from the top to the bottom. After my sister in law and I expressed our concerns to the desk clerk the next morning, we received an apology along with extra reward points. That was very nice and appreciated, After we left and were on the road for just a short distance, the manager called and spoke with both couples. We were told that because of the housekeeping issues we would not be charged for the rooms. That was an unexpected gesture but again very much appreciated. We arrived back at our home in Kansas on 05/09/16 and upon checking my American Express bill, the room charge has not been credited off our account. First rule of customer service is don't offer what you can not give. It sets the customer up for disappointment and distaste for the company. May 10, 2016
