Don't Go Home Without
Don't go home without experiencing the 50 block area called "The District". From boutique shops, to a wide variety of dining and entertainment options you can lose yourself for hours on end. Must do restaurants include grabbing a pizza at Shakespeare's voted the best college hangout by Good Morning America or eat one of the top 10 burgers in America at Booches as noted in U.S.A. Today.
The University of Missouri is a must see. Steeped in tradition; it is the oldest university west of the Mississippi River. The first homecoming that was ever celebrated was here. The University mascot the "Tigers" finds its origins back to the Civil War. The Union Militia that was formed to protect Columbia was called the Tigers. Famous residents include Carl Edwards, Sheryl Crow and Brad Pitt.
You must get out and explore Columbia. One of the best ways is to hike or bike the extensive trail system throughout Columbia. The MKT Trail actually connects to the KATY Trail that runs across the entire state. There is something going on every day throughout the year. For more information contact the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau for more exciting things to see and do in Columbia.
