What's New

Our local AA Baseball Team, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, who are affiliated with the New York Mets, changed their name. Our local American Hockey League team the Binghamton Devils will be starting their new affiliation in the fall of 2017. The local downtown area in Binghamton is vibrant with many new restaurants, shops and services. We also have our own New Years Eve Ball Drop at Social on State

Tips

The Candlewood Suites is located 1/2 mile west of the main entrance to Binghamton University. Pleased be aware that move in dates and graduation dates are extremely busy in our area. Each summer the PGA Champions Tour Dick's Sporting Goods Open takes place in our county. Each Friday during the Golf Tournament we have a concert which has seen Tim McGraw, Zac Brown and in 2017 Bon Jovi perform.

Don't Go Home Without

Stop in and visit one of our micro-breweries such as Galaxy Brewing or Water Street Brewing Company; sample a brew or two. In the summer and fall visit one of our local farms where you may pick your own berries, apples and pumpkins. Lone Maple Farm and Apple Hills Farm are minutes away, In the autumn months, visit the Cider Mill for fresh apple cider, doughnuts, and local jams and jellies.

Must See

Binghamton, NY is known as the Carousel Capital of the World. Between 1919 and 1934, George F. Johnson (1857 – 1948), shoe manufacturer and great benefactor, donated six beautiful carousels to our local parks. All six are still running to this day and admission is free.

Must Do

The First Friday Art Walk occurs on the first Friday of every month. A number of art galleries downtown open their doors for local guests to display art exhibits, musical performances, and even food and wine tastings. Watch a Binghamton Devils hockey game or a Bing. Rumble Ponies baseball game. Listen to the Bingahmton Philharmonic at the Forum Theatre or see a show at the Cidermill Playhouse.
