This hotel made our business trip very comfortable.
Good friendly staff.
Only recommendation is for the breakfast to start slightly earlier - because of our early start we missed out on the breakfast that we paid for.

The usual good quality Holiday Inn service. Good value for money even if breakfast is a bit pricey at £15. Good quality hotel and very helpful friendly staff

Hired a conferance room like something out of the 70's that was damp and smelly.
Evening meal a disaster, with terrible food served, like something out of Fawlty Towers with rows in the kitchen clearly heard from the dining room.
No room upgrade for Spire level
The only thing worthy of a mention were Aaron on the front desk and Daniel in the resteraunt, they were stars in the obvious face of adversity.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Patrickr Extremely comfortable bed and clean room
Generally excellent service. Besides the relatively minor problem of failure to deliver the morning paper (once only), the only disappointment was dinner on the first night of a very dry and overcooked burger, served with a tiny portion of fries. But excellent coleslaw! This led to finding alternative dinner venues on the following two nights.

had to move rooms due to no beds made up for the children ... no remote to change tv in next room ... and hairs in bed .. breakfast staff made us feel like an inconvenience even though we turned up at 9 when breakfast is served til 9.30... cleanliness of tableware left a lot to be desired with dirty glasses and tea stained mugs .. teaspoons .. and saucers..

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Taz40 Room not finished - Shabby appearance of Hotel
I am an IHG member but the hotel could not find anything about my membership and I stay there quite often. Therefore, I was not treated as an IHG Member and it seemed to be clear that there was a difference in being and not being one.
The hotel felt, compared to the last time I stayed there, shabby. There were cigarette butts all over the outside of the main entrance, there were papers on most tables in the bar area, but not folded, scruffily placed.
The room had been renovated, but badly. There was paint on the door fitting, there were scrapes on the walls. The hotel had lost its sparkle.

Some very nice and likeable people work at this hotel. However the restaurant and bar can be a bit of a lottery.
