Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Restaurant I have to comment on the menu in the restaurant in the evenings and this is what has let your hotel down. The menu is awful, there was nothing at all on there that my husband or I would eat. We therefore got a taxi and went out to eat. Because of this I could not recommend this hotel to others. This is a shame as everything else was wonderful May 20, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Shame about the Resturant Upon checking in was greeted as a Platinum member but was not offered a room upgrade; had to ask for it. Was informed that as they do not have many they do not offer room upgrades! Asked the receptionist about the dinner menus three courses for £20, was informed that I should ask in the restaurant. Room was nice 206 but got the kitchen smells, even though the windows were shut. At the reception in the restaurant enquired about the option of three courses for £20, was informed that they only have the main menu which is new. I asked that they ask the chef about this option? Upon return a grubby A4 sheet was handed to me with three starters, three main and three desserts. I chose crayfish tail ends salad starter, hunters chicken main and French apple flan with ice cream. The starter was a crunchy lettuce leaf with a spoon of crayfish tail ends on top of lettuce a dollop of seafood sauce over the top, one small cherry tomato cut in two, two quarters of lime (nice) with a slice of bread cut in triangle and covered very thickly with margarine. Wish I had my camera. The main course was half a plate of salad, new over boiled potatoes and hunters chicken. At no time was I asked if I required salad dressing. Ah, well dessert must be good. Um the French apple flan had seen better days and the ICE cream was more ice crystals than a nice ice cream. The waitress when clearing asked if all was OK. Showed her the ICE cream and said no. She said she would speak to the chef. Upon leaving had to ask her what the chef said he will check it; but charged the full amount. Should have stayed with my original idea of a club sandwich. Well breakfast must be good. Um I have stayed at this hotel before and experienced better breakfast, poor compared with the normal Holiday Inn breakfast. Either the waitress were not communicating to the chef or the chef was not checking the servery. Upon checking out with the front of house manager explained from check in to check out. She noted it all down and made a goodwill gesture. Would recommend the hotel but not the restaurant. May 12, 2015
