Dalton Defender Museum

The Dalton Defenders Museum is home to memorabilia for the Dalton Gang. The Dalton Gang tried to rob two banks in Coffeyville, Kansas in 1892. The Dalton Gang, included Grat, Bob and Emmett Dalton, Bill Power, and Dick Broadwell. The Daltons were stopped by the brave citizens of Coffeyville.

Brown Mansion

2109 W Walnut St, Coffeyville, KS 67337

The Brown Mansion is owned and operated by the non-profit Coffeyville Historical Society. The Brown Mansion was owned by Violet Brown Kohler, daughter and only living heir of W.P. Brown. Violet Brown sold the home to the Historical Society in 1973 with the stipulation that it be open for public viewing.

Aviation Heritage Museum

Coffeyville's Aviation Heritage Museum is dedicated to early aviation and pioneer pilots of the area, the Aviation Heritage Museum features memorabilia from the Coffeyville Air Base, a Funk airplane and Breezy, owned by Joe Funk and donated to the museum, plus many other displays. Located in Pfister Park, the Aviation Heritage Museum is housed in a 1930's era hangar that was used when the Big Hill Airport was in operation from 1933 to 1960. The airport hangar was constructed in 1933.

Elmwood Cemetary

Visit the final resting place of the Dalton Gang. Elmwood Cemetery is located just off Eldridge on South Walnut (Highway 169). See the grave site of three members of the Dalton Gang; Bob Dalton, Grat Dalton, and Bill Powers. An old hitching post marks the graves of these notorious bankrobbers.

The Perkins Building

The Perkins Building, AKA The Condon Bank, is one of two banks that the infamous Dalton Gang attempted to rob in 1892. The Perkins Building is the most recognizable building in Coffeyville. It was built in 1890 and became home of the Condon Bank, plus other offices and retail stores. Luther Perkins used the design of a similar structure built in Time Square in New York. The “Flat Iron Building” design referred to its unusual shape and the use of metal on the fascia of the building.
