Hotel Indigo Winston-Salem Downtown
Hotel Indigo Winston-Salem Downtown
Located in the center of downtown Winston-Salem in the historic Pepper Building, the
Hotel Indigo Winston-Salem Downtown effortlessly blends into the Art Deco-inspired
architecture of the neighborhood. Local art lines the walls of the hotel, capturing the
eclectic vibe of Winston-Salem's Moravian heritage and growing tech industry. The 75
rooms feature plush bedding, spa-inspired showers, complimentary Wi-Fi and Aveda
bath amenities. Dine at our Sir Winston Restaurant and Wine Loft for a taste of North
Carolina's farms and vineyards, or sip a specialty cocktail from the mezzanine lounge
overlooking the restaurant.
Experience modern amenities, traditional hospitality.
Our convenient location will easily connect you to Old Salem and the dining and
nightlife scene on 4th Street. The historic tobacco town is in the midst of a revival, with
restaurants offering new interpretations of Southern cuisine, craft breweries opening in
former warehouses and music clubs attracting a mix of regional and national names.
Winston-Salem has always set a certain standard (the circa 1929 R.J. Reynolds
building in downtown Winston provided the inspiration for the Empire State Building),
but these days the city is buzzing with a new energy.

Experience the 1766 founding of the Town of Salem at this living history museum that
interprets and recreates daily life of the Moravian settlers, a Protestant religious group
that emigrated from Eastern Europe. Restored structures, landscaped gardens, guided
tours, artifacts, hands-on workshops, shopping and Southern-influenced Moravian
cuisine (don't miss the cookies!) await.
The Kaleideum Museum offers exhibits aimed at children, from toddlers through
teenagers. The facility blends playful experiences like the Climbing Lobby and Krispy
Kreme Doughnut Factory with science-themed displays, like Amazing Airways, where
kids make airflow predictions.
The National Historic Landmark Bethebara Park is located on the site of the first
Moravian settlement in North Carolina. The park's 183-acres are perfect for picnicking,
hiking, trail running, walking and bird watching, as well as exploring the Poindexter
Wildlife Preserve and a reconstructed Colonial village.
Brush up on Georgia O'Keeffe, Mary Cassatt and other renowned American artists at
the Reynolda House Museum of American Art. Built in 1917 as the personal home of
Katharine Smith Reynolds and tobacco titan R. J. Reynolds, founder of the R. J.
Reynolds Tobacco Company, the house opened as an art museum in 1967.
The Winston-Salem Symphony performs more that 35 concerts each year at a variety of
venues across the city. The ensemble's repertoire spans classical and pop, and also
includes Cirque du Soleil-style shows in which acrobats perform daring routines above
musicians.
Catch intimate live music shows from local, regional and national acts at The Ramkat,
named after a neighborhood during the turn of the 20th century where tobacco
warehouse workers went out after work. The 1,000-seat venue features a full bar,
balcony seating and works by local artists.
Held at the intersection of 6th and Liberty streets, the Summer on Liberty Concert
Series hosts outdoor performances from bands and musicians covering genres from
Honky Tonk to Latin. Catch the shows every Saturday night from June through August.
Watch Tanglewood Park come to life with more than 1 million twinkling LED lights
during the seasonal Festival of Lights event. The whimsical display takes place nightly
from mid-November until January 1, and is set to the sound of classic Christmas tunes
and original compositions from the UNC School of the Arts Music Technology students.
Local favorite Mozelle's in the Historic West End is known for its regionally-sourced
Southern cuisine and great people watching from its sidewalk tables. The menu offers
gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options, but one of its most popular dishes is pimento
cheeseburger.
One of Winston-Salem's best-known restaurants, Sweet Potatoes is the place to savor
Southern staples, like fried green tomatoes and okra, and drunken pork chops with
sweet potato cornbread dressing and apple brandy gravy. The Sunday brunch features
three variations of the classic eggs Benedict, as well as fried chicken with gravy on a
biscuit.
Located just outside of downtown Winston-Salem, Ryan's Restaurant features a highly
regarded seafood-centric menu in a lovely setting amid mature oak trees and a flowing
stream. The menu features appetizers like classic Oysters Rockefeller and she crab
soup, and entrees including jumbo lump crab cakes or steak Au Poivre.
Since its 2005 opening, Foothills Brewing has evolved into a major regional brewery,
producing 40,000 barrels a year. Foothill's downtown brew pub pours seven of its core
