Came to town for an overnight stay. Was definitely not disappointed. The room and hotel were super clean. Breakfast was very good too.

This hotel and staff are outstanding. The manager and staff went well beyond normal service. I would strongly recommend Holiday Inn Express Ankeny for anyone traveling. I’ve made reservations for a future stay at this hotel. Thanks to the manager, Mr. Jon Bond and his entire staff.

Was a great visit. My Daughter made friends with the lady at the breakfast area she was so nice all the people were nice, but she made my daughters day

There are restaurants close by, which was nice and the property was exceptionally clean! No hard boiled eggs were available for breakfast, but we are also in a time where eggs are outrageously expensive. There were also no make-up remover pads in the bathroom, something I'm use to having in a Holiday Inn Express property, but the biggest thing for me was the cleanliness of this property!

This was a lovely hotel stay until we reviewed our credit card statement. We noted an additional/separate fee of $25.00 which was not a part of our original agreement. When we phoned the hotel site we were told that this additional fee was assessed to cover any breakage/loss of room items that may have occurred due to our stay. After the room was cleaned and audited the fee is removed. I do not mind the fact that a damage deposit is added but I expect transparency and clarity as this is being assessed to my credit card. This could have easily been a part of our check-in process. Using my credit card for an expense without my approval feels like a personal violation. The result, I will never use this hotel site again and I will ask every IHG site to confirm hidden fees.

Our stay at Holiday Inn Express in Ankeny, Iowa was wonderful. The kind, courteous staff was there to answer any questions we had, and were there to welcome us each day as we came in for breakfast!
Our room was quiet and comfortable, and we had all we needed to enjoy our stay. The location was great while we visited family nearby, with many choices for dining for lunch or dinner.
It was great to take advantage of the swimming pool, especially on days when it was cold and rainy!
We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Overall this location was wonderful. Friendly staff, clean, and good breakfast. Check in was quick. My dislike- no hot tub and shower had poor water pressure.

Very attentive staff and above average beds whe it comes to comfort. I've slept in some bad ones. My only negative is the same negative for all hotels. No one will ever have good water pressure. I even had to stay at a Ritz Carlton for a work trip and even their showers weren't good. Hotels just never have it

We have stayed at several Holiday Inns in the last few years. All have a standard decor, which is modern and inviting. The staff members have been professional and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We sleep well at Holiday Inn.
Broken bathroom vent

The vent in my bathroom (or something on the roof) broke and was clanking and banging all night. I ended up switching rooms for the remainder of my stay.
I would’ve appreciated a discount or something for having a room that was broken and banging for the night and required a room change.
The remainder of my stay in the second room was good.

Comfortable, clean room. Quiet space for the night. Breakfast crew struggled to get enough food for those in the dining area. Overall good stay.
