I would never stay here again. Worst HIE

I would have never expected such a poor facility. It was in desperate need of a remodel. Carpet was very dirty and stained in many areas. Walls were patched and then not repainted.
Our shower head was broken and did not function properly. Lighting was very poor, and there wasn't even a desk lamp. Had to move a low watt pole lamp to get some light.
There was a prominent sign at the front desk saying breakfast started at 6:00 AM. When myself and another gentleman showed up at 6:05, no lights were on, and breakfast wasn't ready. At 6:15, it still wasn't ready, and I asked the lady in the kitchen back room when it would be. She abruptly replied that it wasn't until 6:30. When I asked the person at the front desk, he replied that "she is back there, and it'll be ready soon. The staff was very unfriendly, and were making me feel like I should mind my own business.
I will never stay at this hotel again. This is not even close to the standards that should be.

Booked main floor room with 2 queens but this wasn't what we got. Rebooked to main floor. Dirty wash cloth on the shower rod. Chipped and cracked paint. Water stains on bathroom floor. Good breakfast though.

It was dirty and not up to standard. The pool and hot tub were also dirty. Breakfast choices were very limited— it was not typical of a holiday inn.

When we pulled up the hotel looked nice. When we went inside the lobby was clean but thats where the good part of this hotel ends. There was a security guard actively drinking on the job. Got into the elevator to a gawd awful smell when we arrived at our flood the rugs and walls were filthy. Only got worse from there we went in our room and if it wasn’t so late I would have turned and left. The furnishings were all stained and smelly the bed was ok but the bathroom was horrible the shower was like if they attached a garden hose let’s just say the shower had no sprinkle. We rested for about 4-5 hours attempted to get a cup of coffee and it was horrible. We couldn’t twait to get out of there

Very disappointed in this property. It was dirty, especially carpet and stairwells. There was a pair of dirty socks in the stairwell for four days of our visit. Outside door from stairwell didn't require use of key for entrance. The walls are dirty and damaged. Our room was not serviced daily, and when it was there was only towel exchange and trash emptying. Elevator did not always work. Breakfast not replenished sufficiently during high occupancy. Very high rates during event.

The only good thing with this hotel is that the bed is comfortable, the rest is terrible. The breakfast is horrible, cold eggs, sausage, Waffle machine didn't work, the entire staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. Would not recommend this hotel
Desperately in need of facelift

If I hadn’t been so tired, I would have turned around and walked out of the room and requested a refund. This was one of the worst maintained HIEs I have ever stayed at. The walls had been patched and covered with different colors and sheens of paint on multiple walls. They tried to hide this by providing low wattage light bulbs in the light fixtures. The furniture was cracked and peeling. The carpets worn thin. The breakfast area was not well stocked. We got the last two napkins. The TV signal was not dependable.
Came up short....

I am a Platinum Elite Member and stayed at this hotel for the first time under the new Holiday Inn umbrella. I was very disheartened by the condition of the finishes on each of the room floors. The main lobby showed well but the other floors and worn out wavey carpet and paint. The room had a broken shower, which required you to shower and take a bath at the same time because it did not drain. The tub was also not very clean due to the fact it did not drain properly. Another complaint would be the hotel clerk at checkout....he was extremely nice and did his job well; however, his appearance was not fitting of the position. He had a baclava face mask on with hat and hoodie pulled over his head...not professional at all. Sorry Holiday Inn.
Hotel in Desperate Need of Renovation, Repair, and Cleaning

The outside of the building is in desperate need of a powerwashing. The lobby was about what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express and looked like it had been renovated recently. I wish we had taken photos of the luggage carts. They were slapped together with what looked like pallet wood. The elevator was fine, but when the doors opened to the floor our room was on . . . rough. The carpet, walls, and lighting were in bad shape. The room was generally terrible. The furniture was old, carpeting was filthy, headboards were torn up, and the room was dark. The bathroom was dirty and also dark. The shower curtain had red mold across the bottom and the towels were threadbare. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable and bed linens were clean (I think / hope). I really regret not reading the reviews of this property as they mostly say similar things. The management responds with platitudes, but there doesn't seem to be any changes being made. I would not stay here again and would encourage others to try one of the many other IHG properties in the area.

Stopped on our way north off 81. Yep, i choose the wrong IHG property, once closer to 81 N but it was literally 1.1 miles on Rte 1 (closer to 76). The hotel was clean and comfortable. The gentlemen working the front desk 3/30/25 was outstanding. He wanted very much to insure we had a pleasant stay. Issues, pillows were too soft---aren't we brats ;-) Other than that we had the first floor jacuzzi King. Loved the high ceilings!! Enjoyed a soak and good night's sleep before we hit the road again. Beware, no restaurants within walking distance except for the Rutters gas station, but it served to provide us a sandwich for dinner.
Worst IHG hotel in long time

Recently, I made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express located at 1152 Harrisburg Pike, in Carlisle Pennsylvania. I can say, unequivocally, this has to be the worst Holiday Inn I have encountered in recent memory.
The hallway carpeting on every floor is absolutely filthy. After my kids walked through the hallways in their socks and/or bare feet, their socks and feet were almost black. I also like to use the stairwells as they are often times more efficient than waiting for the elevator. The stairwells were also filthy, and I noticed, in the North stairwell, a lollipop stick that was stuck to the carpeting when we arrived on Thursday and was still there when we left on Sunday. This is in addition to leaves, mulch, and other outdoor materials which were never vacuumed or removed.
The pool was another source of disappointment. The pool tile just above the water line appeared to be starting to mold. Additionally, there was sand on the bottom of the pool which was obviously also never vacuumed or cleaned. The pool area itself was also never cleaned during our stay as there were clumps of dirt in the corners near the shallow end of the pool as well as the whirlpool area.
Breakfast was another disappointment. While the apples were fine, the bananas were one day away from being ready to use for banana bread. The only hot offerings were scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, turkey sausage patties and pork sausage links. Friday morning did include an offering of potatoes. There was bacon on Sunday but it was, for the most part, undercooked (I had to take it back to my room to cook it in the microwave). I never saw the biscuits and gravy I have become accustomed to at Holiday Inn Express venues. I constantly had to request food be restocked as small amounts were made available each time – almost as if being rationed. The pancake machine was not functional on Friday, worked fine on Saturday, and was mysteriously out of order again on Sunday. On Friday and Sunday, a sign was posted ensuring patrons the machine would be fixed as soon as possible. It probably could have been fixed if the individual prepping the food area had bothered to insert a bag of pre-mixed batter (but that may have been too much work as the attendant spent more time on her cell phone than she did restocking food or ensuring adequate amounts were set out for consumption in the first place). The last straw was when I asked, at 9:30 on Sunday morning, if there were any more cinnamon rolls available. The attendant, without bothering to get up from her seat in the breakfast area, told me there were no more cinnamon rolls. Of course, when I walked by the open door of the food prep area as I left, I noticed two still covered pans of cinnamon rolls on the counter. One final note about the breakfast area which might explain the small amounts of food being set out incrementally – it is obvious that there are homeless people in the area who enter the hotel and avail themselves of the offerings at the breakfast bar. I suspect, if confronted by management, they might create a scene or even create late night mischief in the parking lot as a means of retaliation. The free use of the breakfast bar may be an unspoken form of détente. Of course, this is just speculation as to the outcome if the free coffee and food were to be cut off.
The room itself did not feel clean. The sheets were not crisp and the mattress in the sofa-bed was so worn I could feel every spring as I moved in an effort to get comfortable. The sheets for the pull-out bed appeared to be clean but the bedspread was ill-fitting and threadbare.
Both front desk staff personnel were pleasant, and the room attendants also appeared to be hard-working and kind. If I had to put my finger on the issue, I would say it was a lack of oversight by management. In my experience, that which is not checked is neglected…and there are a number of things that have been neglected at this particular Holiday Inn. I will not stay there again and will warn people away from this location. The Holiday Inn on the west end of Carlisle is, head and shoulders, a better option.
