We chose this hotel based on a few things. Our sons graduation ceremony was a 15min walk away. Plenty of bars/restaurants and shops right outside the hotel. Breakfast and parking was included. Staff were courteous and polite. The hotel was clean and tidy. The only disappointment was the air-conditioning wasn't working.

Was notified that AC was out on checkin which was too late to book another property. Ran out of bottled water for guests since AC was out. Had to get our own TP when ran out almost immediately on checkin, only one plug in room, no washcloths. Good location and nice breakfast included. Paid $250 for the room. I should have received a discount given the issues but no compensation was offered.

Lovely hotel with good sized room and excellent staff. HOWEVER although your website says there is on site parking we had to park in the adjoining multi storey public car park. Also Although your website showed the normal IHG menu there was only chips, pizza or something else available. Air conditioning was not working throughout the hotel and the lift button on our floor was not working.

Moved to this hotel because they listed Air Conditioning, on checking they said AC was broken. Front desk people said AC is a luxury, in England. They gave us room 3rd floor it was very hot and window does not open. Called front desk they moved us to room on 1st floor where window opened 5 inches, still HOT! Show me the repair report on AC, thinking manager was saving money. I paid for the luxury AC dam it!

Location is fantastic. However there was no AC and it appears to have been non functional for a long time. If it's summer, recommend checking with hotel to see if it's working.

This hotel is well placed. And has friendly staff. We had the least posh room but it was still fine.
One of us liked shops and cafés. One of us liked walking to the Cathedral and back. Via the sea route. Beautiful.

Great stay, lots of extras, I wasn't expecting.

First stay here and so much better than expected. No frills but great value for money. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Late checkout offered, no hassle! Cheap parking and ticket validated. Breakfast was excellent with all you could want. Best toast ever. Room had everything we needed and additional feather pillows supplied. Free help yourself coffee, was a much appreciated, extra touch. Excellent location, right over shopping area and a couple of minutes walk to Gunwharf Quays Marina, numerous restaurants and station. The Historic Dockyard was 5 minutes walk. 10% off selected stores too with your room card. We will be back. Very much a favourite now.

The staff saved this from being a totally negative one star review, they were very helpful, friendly
and went out of their way to sort out any problems. Otherwise, my overall impression is that
the hotel was way over priced at £200 a night, even though it is in a good location.
The rooms are very basic and lack things such as a fridge, safe and are very limited on storage space. The continental breakfast consisted of croissants and small buns, no cheese or cold meats. The dining room was very cramped and struggled to cope with the number of guests.

Deception. Not what we were expecting.

Photos are deceiving to what is online. Entrance is in alley behind the stores. Not quiet where we thought we were staying. Arriving, we are told there NO AC. In the height of summer and tourist season. Getting away from hot flats and a special occasion. IHG stock is high and multi-billion £/$ corporation. Other guests say the AC was out 2 weeks ago. So in no hurry to get it fixed at the peak of the hot season! We are told we are welcome to go elsewhere, but would not get a refund for 10 days. The prices now, anywhere are £100 more than we booked a month and half ago. £90 more at this location than when we booked over a month ago. We rode a train for 4 hours for a special holiday. Now, We are suppose lug our luggage elsewhere and pay higher prices. We are on the third floor. Girlfriend has a bad knee. Sign at elevator says button does not work - call front desk but they do not give a number to call. Thinking of looking for a possible solicitor / lawyer.

Lack of air conditioning and the fact there was 3 of us staying made the room temp unbearable at times, even with the fan!!! The room had very few plug sockets, none near the beds. Not enough storage space either - we were staying 3 nights - only 4 hangars!! I had requested a room on a low floor when I booked but this wasn’t noticed until I asked about it so maybe the room on the 3rd floor would have had more storage, there were only 2 cups in the room etc. It’s a great location and the staff were helpful when I asked for sheets as duvets were useless in the heat! I’ve stayed a few times on my own and it was brilliant but in this tech age people like sockets by the bed for charging purposes! Re the air conditioning problem I was surprised that there were no updates during our 3 day stay. When we got back to the hotel on the Tuesday night there was only sparkling water available in the fridge and no one behind the desk to ask for still. I’d received an e-mail before arrival re early check in etc but no mention of the heating issue!!
