It was only for one night but the experience was awesome. The indoor pool was a little cold but I really enjoyed this property.

Stayed overnight on our way home from vacation. Room was clean and comfortable. Would stay again

Hotel charges our 6 day stay to the credit card as soon as we check in. Have to request full cleaning service of room as if they are in Covid cleaning mode. And you get full cleaning every other day. They are charging full price for the rooms. On the fourth day of our stay we came back to our room after dinner and it was not serviced at all. I went to the front desk and got towels. The person behind the counter said someone would bring K cups and drinking cups up to the room. That never happened. The day when we come back to the room I saw the cleaning person working on a room past ours. Ours was not serviced yet. So i went and asked the lady if she was going to do our room. She asked if we needed service. I replied it has not been serviced in two days. Finally it got serviced. Service is terrible at this hotel and will not stay here again.

We recently traveled 9 days/8 nights across the southeast and stayed at 8 different hotels: 5 Holiday Inn Expresses & 3 Holiday Inns. I will submit a review for each hotel and rate them based on the usual factors plus in comparison with others of the same IHG brand:
3rd night-Holiday Inn Express-Smithfield, NC
We arrived and found the Diamond parking spaces, but they were near a dumpster at the end of the building so we decided to park instead closer to the entrance and under a streetlamp. Upon entering the lobby, we were welcomed by a very pleasant Mandy. We were checked in and upgrade to a suite, #415. Upon arrival at that room, we were greeted by a very obvious musty smell. We returned to the lobby and explained and were given the room next door, #417. It was checked out before returning with our luggage and passed the smell test. It was also a suite. Mandy was great and took care of the issue with a smile. I hope they had #415 thoroughly cleaned ? The room had a bathtub-big plus so I could soak my feet and more. Everything in this room was clean and fresh. The a/c worked fine. There was a chair under a lamp in the corner by a/c & window. There was a desk with another chair, a TV above shelving for luggage and a few drawers. USB outlets were on each side of bed. There was an armoire for hanging clothes with an iron in a side panel but no safe as other HIE hotels had. Beverage area with fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee station. The bathroom had a sink, toilet, and tub w/ shower.
Breakfast: Working pancake machine and sugar-free syrup available. Hot items included turkey sausage patties, egg white omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, very small biscuits, and sausage gravy. Usual juices plus oranges & apples-some pastries. All very good and not crowded so more comfortable. Coffee was very hot! I do wonder about the "service charge'?? not sure what that was for?
In conclusion, I would stay here again This was one of the top locations on this trip. Thanks to Mandy and others, we had a very comfortable stay and headed on our way!
Room was excellent but the breakfast could have been much better

The room was quite, clean and in order. The king mattress was new and just soft enough to be comfortable. We were pleased with the check-in and check-out. There was a pool and gym that we didn't use but they appeared to be taken care of properly. The only issue we had was with the breakfast buffet. The best item offered was warm cinnamon buns. The attendant was having difficulty keeping the buffet stocked and people were waiting on items to be refilled. The eggs were offered as Mexican omelets. There were 3 types of sausage offered but none of them had much flavor. The bacon appeared to be greasy. This hotel is located in North Carolina but they don't have grits or biscuits available for breakfast.

The room was great. The breakfast was dry, biscuits burnt and coffee was very weak. They gave us the wrong price on check in and gave us a very hard time and really did not resolve it.
The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful!

I was greeted immediately when I walked in the door. I needed 2 rooms and the staff was very patient and accommodating. She was the most helpful person I’ve encountered in a long time and her customer service was almost unmatched. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. The only regret I have is, I can’t remember her name. I hope this finds her and she knows what an amazing job she’s doing!!!

Great stop on I95. Plenty of parking. Restaurants nearby. Clean and very comfortable bed! Soap products are nice and refreshing. Good internet connection. Breakfast fast and easy. Staff are welcoming!

Je vous ai deja ecrit et j’ai jamais eu de vos nouvelles. J’apprécierais un retour . Me faire donner des cles 2 fois et que les chambres soient déjà occupées. Une chance la 3e etait correct . Normalement je devrais retourner chez vous en mars 2026, si j’ai des nouvelles.

Stopover for I-95 travel

It's a reasonable hotel to stop over for travel. Stayed here on several trips. I'd call it average. Nothing bad but nothing to rave about. Breakfast is good. Front desk staff wasn't as friendly as we've previously experienced here. Certainly very convenient to the huge Smithfield outdoor outlet mall and several restaurants.

As always, I enjoyed my stay slept well was entertained while I was there and always enjoy the experience. Since I joined the IHG network, I’ve never looked back. I look forward to my next stay. I always feel like I’m being paid to travel.
