Great hotel on our trip south. Clean, friendly and reasonably priced.

Stayed for a weekend and was surprised at large size room with all the amenities. Big comfortable King size bed and pillows made for a good nights sleep. Two recliner chairs was a plus and nice to put the feet up for a while. Didn't see any USB charging ports in the room. Would have been a plus. Otherwise a clean and comfortable room. Highly recommend this hotel.
Safe, clean place to stay

This hotel was very clean, staff wearing masks, hand sanitizer everywhere. Electrostatic cleaning in progress daily. It's not an opulent hotel but the bed and linens were very comfortable. We were able to cook our own meals and avoid restaurants.
A place to sleep

As a Platinum member, I was not impressed.
As soon as I walk in a room and see a 32 inch TV, I know that whoever runs this motel is cheap, cheap, cheap.
I came in late in the day and did not have a chance to get any groceries. The pantry had powdered creamer in a big container, but no Half&Half creamers. That is just cheap.
The lighting is still low wattage curly florescent's that throw no light. Again, just cheap.
The TV channel selection was mediocre at best which sucks when you are on a long term assignment. Too cheap to provide a better service.
I know there is Covid, but some of your protocols are beyond explaining. I can have one of your menu cards, but I can't have a TV channel listing because it might have cooties???
The pantry is the worst I have seen in a Candlewood. Huge pantry, tiny shelves that were hard to reach.
I know that this was a retrofit motel, but the bathroom design is terrible. Sorry, but I build hotels and restaurants for a living,
This was also the first Candelwood that had no garbage disposals. There was a switch on the wall for one, but no disposal. I don't know if this was result of zoning or city ordinance or just being cheap.
This was also the second Candlewood I have been in where I had to request once a week room service. I understand Covid protocols, but a change of bedding, fresh towels and a general cleaning once a week should not be by special request. To me, it was just another sign of a cheap management team who was using Covid to reduce staff with no subsequent benefit to your customers.
Since January of this year I have stayed in IHG motels in Concord and Durham, NC. Ashland, VA, Spartanburg, SC and Murfreesboro, TN. Only once have I been greeted as a member and then only as a Gold member and that Candlewood Suites motel was using a completely out of date data system that had an old address that changed almost 15 years ago.
