REALLY AWFUL STAY...SIMPLY AWFUL!!

My room had BEDBUGS and I bitten in the face, legs, arms, and back!!!!! After requesting another room, I had to kill roaches and found a half alive cock roach on my kitchen floor!!!! I killed spiders and ants during the stay. I tried to find another hotel but none available in the area. Traveled from Michigan only to be eaten alive by BEDBUGS!!! I couldn't sleep for the fear of spiders and BEDBUGS!!! Could you sleep knowing that BEDBUGS could get you as you dose off????? NO YOU COULDN'T!!! I WAS HORRIFIED!!!!

Great Hotel! Great Staff! My wife and I stay @ this hotel quite often and will continue to do so. We have coming here for over ten years.

We stayed 2 nights and traveled with our dog. The suite was nicer than any other hotel that we’ve stayed in in this price range. Would definitely stay here again.
Mold smell was bad

The mold smell was bad in my room, and my work colleagues room. Which ends up giving me a dull headache, and I get stopped up and congested and don’t sleep as well. It was the first time I had stayed in the Candlewood suite and I don’t believe I’ll do it again even though I liked having the kitchen area. Especially for a long work trips where you can then actually make some of your own food. But having to be in a moldy environment for that many days is not good for once Health and some of us are very sensitive to it and can get sick. It’s the third IHG property I’ve stayed in that had significant mold issues. Just the smell of mold, but evidently they are not taking care of with the air conditioning units or the shower, ventilation system or water leaks that have occurred and gotten in under the carpet that they’re not maintaining and taking care of. It seems to be hit or miss with IHG properties on this issue. Two of the ones I’ve stayed at for work or in very small towns. So now I’m always wondering when I book upcoming business travel with IHG properties, whether or not there’s gonna be a significant mold issue. IHG really needs to get a handle on this because some people get very sick from mold and inhale it and this could end up being a significant cost and liability.

We decided to stay spontaneously after a day at the beach. We enjoyed the amenities and close proximity to great restaurants as well as other things. I would definitely recommend staying

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The smell of the hotel just warmed my heart everytime we walked in. This is the best smelling hotel ever. My stay was excellent can’t have asked for better stay.

I’m in the military and they’ve always accommodated to my needs. I needed somewhere quick, clean, and pet friendly too stay and they excelled in meeting my requirements. The staff were all very helpful and worked around my busy work schedule when it came to housekeeping. I highly recommend this hotel to others.

I love stay at Candlewood Suites. This location was great for traveling and seeing family. I will definitely stay here again. The smell of the hotel when you walked in smell so delightful and home welcoming. If they can make that smell for my house I would love it. The staff and housekeeping was great.

The room cleanliness was very good (all kitchen items were very tidy). While having a clean carpet is excellent, the cleaning crew which showed up unannounced was slightly inconvenient -- this could be remedied in the future by alerting the customer well ahead of time.

Great location! Theater near, grocer, eateries all within walking distance. Great lake view. Walkable area, neighborhood right next door. Very dog friendly property. Younger staff not customer service oriented but that unfortunately is normal everywhere.

This hotel is perfect to long term guess within walking to distance to grocery store, fast food, restaurants and only 10 minutes driver Langley AFB and NASA Research center in Hampton VA.

We have stayed at this hotel for a long time and have seen it go through many changes, in comfort of the hotel, its cleanliness, its staff, many things!! Today, this property is the best it has ever been! The staff is happy and seem content now, the hotel is clean from top to bottom, they have a new manager (Angel) and she is doing an excellent job, plus one of the managers from outside the property comes in regularly to help her adjust and make improvements. The property recently went through some very difficult, not good, changes, but it is so refreshing to see things turn around. We are enjoying our stay here, better now than ever! We appreciate Angel's hard work, her sincere caring attitude and all the changes she is getting done around here, plus she is just a good person and we enjoy her good attitude all the time. She seems to really want to do a good job and stepped into a mess when she arrived here..She has proven herself. Thank you. Would recommend staying here again.
