Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what one would wish for Friendly and helpful staff, a welcoming bar offering light meals, and a lovely setting on the canal and next to the waterways museum and an excellent South African restaurant a minute's walk away. Ellesmere Port town has little to offer but the railway station is only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. I enjoyed my short stay and would not hesitate to return when next in the area. 07 July 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by disabled parking there were very few disabled parking spaces and 2 were occupied all night by non badge holders who could not be located we have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it is in need of renovation the matress sagged in the middle and the lighting in the bathroom was poor. 03 July 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable bed Was surprised to find that the bed was a pull down bed rather than divan. This meant that the pillows disappeared in the gap between headboard and mattress and the bed as a metal frame moved and squeaked. The bedside lights were ineffective due to the framework of the bed surround and fairly inaccessible. Unfortunately this stay was not the standard we have come to expect from Holiday Inn. 01 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very friendly staff and excellent service We spent 3 nights at Ellesmere Port and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the service was excellent. On arrival we were upgraded at no extra cost which was a nice surprise. We found the room a bit too hot through the night and would have prefered to have had the option of A/C. Food was excellent and leisure facilities were good. I will definately use this hotel again when we are back in that area and would definately recommend it. 30 June 2014
