We stayed here for 3 nights. We used points and it was more than other hotels we stayed at, but the suite was nice. The only thing lacking was that they didn't serve a breakfast.

Upon checking in the desk clerk's greeting and check in were like talking to a remote. She had obviously been working the desk long enough to know the speech from memory with no concern as to how it sounded. Hotel was reasonably empty when we checked in and she still assigned a room that was directly across the hall from the elevators and the ice machine and vending machines. A return trip to the desk resulted in a new room. Upon trying to enter the room, the lock lit up green but the door would not open. Another trip to the front desk to tell her the key card or lock didn't work. After waiting several minutes for her to complete registering another customer (No other employees at the desk), I explained the problem and got the response " oh that room you have to push the handle up not down". Why not tell us that before we went up? - I guess that wasn't in her memorized speech.
A/C unit was so noisy that you could not sleep with it on - TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. With it off you could even hear the other units above or below the window.
Other than being oversized, the room and bathroom was not really any better than a HI express and this is suppose to be a level up from express.
Attached restaurant for breakfast had only one staff working the entire room - she made a great effort but there were too many tables for her to provide prompt service. At least 2 tables walked out. Fruit bowl was excellent, coffee was like dishwater, eggs were overcooked, bacon and toast were good. Only saving grace was the waitress and the fact that the restaurant was attached and we had prepurchased the breakfast.
Most of the parking spaces were extremely narrow so that any car bigger than a compact had a difficult time opening the door and not hitting the car next to you. Poorly designed.

Our overall stay was great-- the staff was welcoming, polite, and the service was excellent. The prices were a bit high, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant/bar was also nice to have in the hotel. Great food, great service. The shuttle, however, was not as readily available as they suggested. While we used the shuttle frequently for transportation to town, it was often late or unavailable when we needed it. The day before our departure, we called the front desk to book the shuttle to take us to the airport. We were told it was unavailable, but they booked us alternate transportation. In the morning, the alternate transportation didn't show up and the shuttle was parked right out front. We ended up missing our flight and had to stay an extra day, but nothing was offered for this inconvenience. If you're staying, be sure to rent a car!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by soozmoose Overall great hotel for short stay in Durango
The front desk staff will take great care of your needs, the hotel is very new and clean, great service overall although the restaurant might leave you a little dissatisfied - good food and service is pretty good, not great. Quiet rooms, great beds, comfy rooms, not so great towels but overall, you will be pleased with your stay here.

The connecting door didn't keep out TV noise out. Staff wasn't able to move me to another room. Please, please, I never want a connection room again and I would really prefer not having a handicap room unless staff asks me if it is okay.
