Must See

Must See

No visit to Istanbul would be complete without a trip to the old town, Sultanahmet, a labyrinth of shisha bars, bazaars and hammams. Less than an hour’s drive from the hotel, you can discover exquisite ceramic tiles, chandeliers and sparkling stained glass at the 17th-century Blue Mosque, while the neighbouring Hagia Sophia museum is one of the world’s finest examples of Byzantine architecture.
Must Do

Must Do

If you have time, head over to the Prince Islands. They are just half an hour by ferry from Kartal, 25 minutes' drive from the hotel. Once a place of exile for badly behaved Byzantine princes, it’s now a peaceful, car-free paradise where you can explore on foot, ride a horse-drawn carriage or rent a bicycle to discover ornate Ottoman mansions and the 6th-century, hilltop Aya Yorgi Church.
Don't Go Home Without

Don't Go Home Without

Just 7 km along the coast from the hotel, glistening yachts float side-by-side in the sunshine at retail and dining hotspot Viaport Marina. More than 150 stores at the open-air outlet shopping centre offer the chance to browse for the latest Turkish fashions, and you can refuel at waterfront restaurants and cafés, entertained by street performers and regular water shows.

Perched on the edge of Mercan Bay, Tuzla Yacht Club is a peaceful oasis with lush gardens set around a sandy beach. Only 15 minutes by car from the hotel, you can swim, learn to sail the club’s classic wooden dinghies or enjoy a meal at the on-site restaurant. Housed in a 19th-century monastery, it’s the perfect place to sample seasonal Ottoman cuisine, with the added bonus of fabulous sea views.
