Needs updated but has potential

I received an upgrade to a king suite it was sparingly appointed and the Heating/ AC unit in the separate bedroom was archaic must have been from the 70's no temp control and noisy plus it didn't really work. The unit nin the living room was modern and I made up for room comfort with that. Motel was clean and staff very friendly. Kudos to the restaurant for a excellent dinner and breakfast.

Enjoyable stay at Spearfish-Convention Center.
Traveling with additional family members and we were able to be placed next to them.
Kids enjoyed the pool.
Able to walk to Applebees restaurant for 1 of our meals.
We were visiting the area, many wonderful things to see.

Terrible Service

The employee who answered the phone told me that Lucky's was not in the hotel and was located a couple of blocks away. It is in fact located in the bar. This did not matter however because they closed before midnight on a Saturday night. The front desk employee told me that my credit card was denied and offered for me to give her a different credit card. When I asked her what the reason the computer gave her she stated, "error." This is not a denied credit card, but clearly a computer/device error. I then drove to my bank (used the same card) and withdrew more money then the room would have cost. I also continued to use that same credit card a two different businesses and the card never was "denied" or had an "error."

I assume your reservation was handled by a third party call center who handles multiple properties and I apologize you were not given the correct information and will work to make sure these call centers have all the correct information to give our guests moving forward. I also apologize for the error with the credit card. Check in was a little slow because our company name was in the computer more than once and it was difficult for front desk to find our account because of the naming.

Overall the hotel is nice and having restaurant on site is even nicer when the weather is bad.

Recently had the opportunity to stay at the Holiday Inn in Spearfish South Dakota, while attending a wedding.
Nice place, lots of people so a bit noisy. Would recommend this Hotel to others and would stay there again.

Amazing Beds

We were greeted by a very friendly front desk staff which is always nice after you have been on the road. But I think the best thing was the bed! Amazing!!! To the point that my husband had to take off the sheets to see what type of mattress it was. Neither of us have slept so good in months. Very quite hallways and no noise from adjourning rooms.

A wonderful stay, and great service

I must say for the price; this was an outstanding visit to your Hotel. I spend the previous night in Hot Springs, SD., I spend twice the amount for a room there and I was totally disappointed, this was supposed to be a high-end Spa Resort, I had better stay at a low-cost budget Hotel, it was Wonderful to stay at Holiday Inn, where the amenities where outstanding and the staff was wonderful.
