The Wiener Staatsoper is one of the busiest opera houses in the world producing 50 to 60 operas per year in approximately 200 performances. It is quite common to find a different opera being produced each day of a week. As such, the Staatsoper employs over 1000 people. The opera company operates a repertoire system: more than 50 productions are staged every year, and there is a performance nearly every day for ten months of the year.

St. Stephen's Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna. Its current Romanesque and Gothic form seen today, situated at the heart of Vienna, stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first being a parish church consecrated in 1147. As the most important religious building in Austria's capital, the cathedral has borne witness to many important events in that nation's history and has, with its multi-coloured tile roof, become one of the city's most recognisable symbols.

Schoenbrunn Palace is one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria and UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 1996. In our days this is the oldest zoo which has kept in its original state and has been working ever since, famous for its cages arranged in a shape of a ring. It was the Schönbrunn Zoo where first in the world an elephant baby was born in a zoo park.
