The Elephant Hill is situated at the confluence of two rivers: Li-river and Peach Blossom River, being as the symbol of Guilin city. The hill looks like an elephant with its trunk sucking water by the river, hence the name. The scenic area covers 14.33 ha. and was listed as the first batch of national 4A scenic area in 2001.

Located on the bank of taohua river in the northwest of Guilin city, 6 kilometers away from the city center, Guilin lusi scenic spot is a scenic spot which mainly focuses on visiting caves and supplemented by enjoying the idyllic scenery. It is an important part of the whole Lijiang river scenic spot and also the first national key scenic spot promulgated by the state council in November 1982
