The Lüneburg Heath is a large, geographically mostly flat, undulating heath, geest and forest landscape in the north-east of Lower Saxony in the catchment areas of the cities of Hamburg, Bremen and Hanover. It is named after the city of Lüneburg and includes the main part of the former Principality of Lüneburg.

At 850,000 m², the Heide Park Resort in Soltau is the second largest German leisure and theme park. The park is part of the British Merlin Entertainments Group, which includes various leisure facilities such as Alton Towers, Gardaland, Legoland, Sea Life and the wax museum Madame Tussauds.

If you want to experience the animal world not only from above, but also up close, you can continue directly from Heide Himmel to the adjacent wildlife park. 1,200 animals from 140 species have their home in the Lüneburg Heath Wildlife Park. More than 60 hectares invite you to take long walks through the fascinating animal world. But that's not all.
