Mount maburi, northwest of Lhasa city, Lhasa, Tibet 850000
The appearance of potala palace is 13 floors, 110 meters high, from the foot of the mountain up to the top. It consists of the White House in the east (where the dalai lama lives) and the red palace in the middle (the buddhist temple and the spiritual pagoda of the dalai lama in previous dynasties). A towering white wall in front of the red palace serves as a drying platform, which is used to hang large tapestries of Buddha statues during buddhist festivals.
