Westerner Park hosts more than 1,500 events and receives 1.5 million visitors yearly, making it central Alberta’s largest convention, trade show, agriculture, entertainment and sports facility. Discovery Canyon Park is a seasonal water park located beside Riverbend Golf and Recreation Area. It features a natural river-fed water pool, playground area, concession, and washrooms. Water is pumped up from the lake below and splashes and bubbles its way down grass and tree-lined riffles.

The best kept secret in Central Alberta is the River Bend Golf Course. The Red Deer River majestically wraps itself around River Bend. This 18 hole, par 72 course features elevated tees, large inviting greens, water hazards, and a fresh water stream that winds its way through woods and fairways. Located just east of Red Deer on Highway 11 East, Balmoral Golf Course is a great course for all skill levels. The course opened in 1963 and has matured beautifully over the years. The course offers 18 holes with a licensed clubhouse. It is a public golf course and tee times are required. Season's Passes are available in limited numbers. Powercart and club rentals are also available.
