Shrewsbury Castle

Shrewsbury Castle is a red sandstone castle in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. It stands on a hill in the neck of the meander of the River Severn on which the town originally developed. The Castle houses the spectacular collections of the Shropshire Regimental Museum Trust including pictures, uniforms, medals, weapons and other equipment from the 18th Century to the present day.

The Dingle Garden

At the heart of the Quarry Park lies the Dingle, a floral masterpiece cultivated by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower, who served as Parks Superintendent for 28 years. It's a delightful sunken garden landscaped with alpine borders, brilliant bedding plants, shrubbery and charming water features.

Shrewsbury Prison

Shrewsbury Prison is a recently (2013) decommissioned Victorian jail where you can walk in the footsteps of our social history and listen whilst a Prison Officer shines a light on what life was like for both the incarcerated and those who guarded them through the ages. The huge four acre site is open to explore and you can visit and experience amongst others, the original Victorian cells including those used for segregation, the exercise yards, the execution room and reception, where prisoners
